One of my favorite pieces of fiction ever made. The inventiveness and originality of even minor characters that appear for 2 episodes blows everyhing else out of the water.
I love how every arc feels different and how, despite being prodigies, the main characters rarely complete an arc by out-muscling the enemy.

Greed Island is one of my favourite shonen arcs ever. Love it to bits, especially the volleyball challenge (and the animated version of it in the 1999 series makes it even better).
Shame what happened later with his health or motivation (was it ever officially stated which? I forget), where it descended into scribbles and hiatuses.

Several years ago, HxH crossed the threshold of spending more weeks on hiatus than on a release schedule.

I wonder if Togashi always intended for HxH to get as dark as it gets. Vol 1 looks like some happy fun time adventures. Current chapter has Hannibal Lecter super nen dude giving his bodyguard a ceremonial scar.

HxH and Berserk are my favorite Mangas I never remember to read until I realize they may have come back from hiatus.
Truth. I know it's a meme to bring it up all the time but MAN IS IT GOOD.
York Shin City arc is amazing too. I also loved Greed Island.
