Are people seriously asking for Skyrim ports to stop?

I've always been a fan of more people getting their hands on games. Getting hugely popular games on different platforms is how that happens.

Seriously. A Fallout 3 port would sell truckloads.

If only they could port over New Vegas...
Fallout 3 and New Vegas with a new engine (and modern graphics) and I'd pay full price.

On topic, he has a point. Although I don't like Skyrim that much, sales numbers and active players prove them right. Voting with your wallet does work.

I don't see the problem with this, I mean CLEARLY there are people who want to buy this again. To those who complain about it this, it's not taking a way anything from you, just you know don't buy it.

He's not wrong and I'm glad It's been ported as it's allowing it to be played on the switch. I do however wish the bugs were fixed

If youre gonna release it on everything, why dont you make a little extra effort and make sure my saves transfer for fuck sakes. If youre gonna do it, do it right.

You do know that Platform holders will not allow that right? Only way would be for Skyrim to save games server side but that would mean having to be online.

Then do that. How hard is it to have a "upload to cloud" (that uploads to Bethesda servers) option that allows me to continue from where i was on any platform? Is all that skyrim money not enough to get that going? Like i said, if you do it, do it right.

May aswell ask, I have played the game back on the ps3 and finished the main story, thats it. Should I get it for the ps4? the combat looks a bit crap, especially now haha

It's not a remake, it's simply a HD remaster of the same game. They didn't change anything mechanics-wise.

Oh no I am aware of that, but maybe the game still holds up today. I literally played a handful of side missions and finished the main mission, oh and also cheated my way to max level hahah! Curious if the game looks half decent, and is worth another playtrough (+never played the dlc)

If you never played the DLC, it's worth it. Plus sounds like you have a lot of side quests too.

He's not wrong. I think the only serious complaints came from those who associate these ports with the lack of a new Elder Scrolls game. That question has been answered this E3, so who cares if they put Skyrim on every device on the planet. They have a business to run and the more commercial success the series has the better foundation to launch the next game in the franchise on.

I do wish that they would bother to fix bugs when they do these ports. Switch and VR versions having a ton of previously noted bugs is annoying.

I'm sure it has been said already but the issue people take with the ports is not that they are ports it's more that Bethesda's output has been pretty poor with only one major release (fallout 4) where as last gen we got oblivion fallout 3 and skyrim.

How about Stop feeding addiction, Todd?

Never bought the game but if the discussion around Skyrim ports is big enough that he had to comment on it then its become a serious issue. Please think of the gamers.

Don't worry Todd i won't

Its not the re-releases that bother me. Its how incredibly absurd they are to still have the same bugs and problems from the initial release back in 2011

Absolutely. Only reason I got it on PC after losing interest in the 360 version is because of modding.

Recently I've been wanting the VR version, but I don't want to sift through thousands of mods again just to bring the game up to date. And I don't want to fund more half-baked ports.
