Probably well known by most I imagine, but I'm reading Straczynski's run on Spider-Man, and have encountered the 9/11 issue. The following characters are helping clean up the wreckage of the towers:

Doctor Doom
Magneto
Fisk
Doc Ock

This is quite frankly: BULLSHIT. Considering I recently read Waid's run on Fantastic Four, and Bendis run on Daredevil. Doom and Fisk are lunatics! Get the fuck out!

Well, at least Straczynski's issue isn't a knee-jerk jingoistic reaction, so kudos to him for not going that route.

Doom was just sad he hadn't thought of it first.

Wait is Mystique actually retconned into Rogue's birth mother?

I'm not sure what the current backstory is right now. But, as a kid I remember it being a thing where Mystique was both Rogue and Nightcrawler's birth mother. Unfortunately, my memory isn't great enough to be able to point anyone in the right direction for where I saw it.

If anyone knows otherwise definitely feel free to correct me!

Yeah she's not Rogue's birth mother just her adopted mother. Rogue's birthmother was a hippie.

Clark Kent compresses his spine to make himself shorter when he isn't being Superman to help disguise his secret identity.

Zombie Sentry was originally intended to be zombie Superman, but they hastily recolored him as to not get in trouble, hence the:

How would that even work? They were going to blatantly color him in Superman colors?
Pretty much. You can see the remnants of his trunks.

It wouldn't be the first time either company has done it, either. Superman and Wonder Woman were both in a Marvel book last year. It was only their legs, but it was obvious it was them based on the costume design.

Sandman once killed Spider-Man by forcing himself down Spider-Man's throat until his entire sand mass exploded out of Spider-Man's body.

John Constantine was raped by a dog and the video of the act was sold online by the sleepy town of Doglick, VA who entered into the bestiality porn business to stay afloat economically.

Okay back to random factoids off the top of my head.

Rob Liefeld keeps getting work in the comic industry. Okay that one was mean spirited. Guess I'm not done having horrifying memories of the Dark Age of comics.

Speaking of the Dark Age of Comics...

Did we mention the young hot Magneto clone named Joseph?

What about that after losing his adamantium bones Logan saved Jean from flying out the blackbird and dying... After he flatlined. He claimed Jean had it backwards and Jean had saved him from death instead.

Jubilee once asked why the blackbird didn't have a slushy machine since those turtles had a pizza maker in there van.

Psylocke was once mentally controlling Cyclops to be distractingly attracted to her. I forget the pay off to that.

Jean Grey was killed... Again.. But this time moved her consciousness into Emma Frost... Who had aslo been killed and moved her consciousness into Iceman. For some reason Jean could still use her telekinesis.

Colossus found out his brother was still alive and was an insane mutant that they had to kill.

Shinobi Shaw was a bad idea all around.

Bishop came from a possible future and fell briefly in love with his own grandma.

Bishop also thought Gambit would betray and kill the X-men. Who the traitor really was... Was alot worse.

After the Onslaught incident mutant hate was at a new high because the films showed the X-men killing the Avengers who were using there forms to Contain him. The artwork didn't suggest this at all.

There was a heroic Green Goblin. He was Ben Urich's nephew.

Batman watches Star Trek.
Batman and Martian Manhunter both watch/read Sailor Moon.

Martian Manhunter (in Japan) disguises himself as a Japanese woman, and calls himself "Hino Rei" (the alter ego of Sailor Mars) because he thinks he's being clever.

Clark Kent is completely fooled, but Bruce Wayne immediately gets the reference, and immediately outs himself as a closet Sailor Moon fan so that he can rub J'onn's nose in it.

Mystique is Nightcrawler's biological father, not mother (Mystique shapeshifted herself a penis so she could have straight sex with her lesbian lover), and Mystique is also Rogue's adopted mother.

Rogue and Nightcrawler never knew each other before the X-Men (Mystique keeps a lot of secrets), but they're adopted siblings.

Noooooo. That was the proposed by Claremont origin for Rogue. It was never used or revealed and instead Rogue's parents are a rich guy and a hippie who fell in love.

Azazel is Nightcrawler's father.

Mystique and Destiny weren't even revealed as lovers until Claremont's Xtreme X-men comic.

Just read the best volume of Amazing Spider-Man so far during my Marvel binge. By Straczynski: Vol. 6: Happy Birthday. Trivia for this thread: many characters in the world of Marvel use the same NY tailor. This dude:

The Kelvinverse Starship Enterprise once helped Hal Jordan defeat Necron in an alternate reality where Blackest Night ended with death of that universe.

In that Sulu became the White Lantern.

The 11th Doctor and the crew of the Enterprise-D to fight an alliance between the Borg and the Cybermen. It was revealed that the 4th Doctor had faced the Cybermen with Kirk and crew.

In real life Tim Gunn actually critiqued Super hero costumes in an interview.

The videos are deleted on YouTube apparently.

The Garfield comic strip was originally going to be titled after Jon, while his cat basically acted as a side character who made snappy comebacks. Jim Davis' mentor, the late T.K. Ryan (Tumbleweeds), essentially convinced Jim Davis that Garfield should be the titular character, given how the concept is worded. Personal viewpoint: this tidbit would explain why Jon is still a regular presence in the comic despite his virtual absence in Garfield merchandising.

Another Garfield tidbit is that the titular cat is named after Jim Davis' grandfather, but as it turns out, his grandfather is named after the president James A. Garfield. So it's not totally inaccurate when people say that Garfield is named after the president of the same name.

Thank you for reading.

Hang on... this isn't accurate. True that there was no way Jim Shooter was going to let Claremont come right out and say that Mystique and Destiny were a couple in the early 80's, but they were CLEARLY depicted as a very much domestic, monogamous couple with an adopted daughter. After Destiny died, in the late 80's early 90's, they were flat out referring to their relationship way before XXM.

And Claremont had planned to make both Nightcrawler and Rogue biological children of Mystique, but it was Nightcrawler who would have Mystique as a father. This is according to John Byrne who was co-plotting the book with CC at the time, and separately according to Scott Lobdell who took over the book after Claremont, and by Claremont himself.

Actually, Scott Lobdell wrote X-Men Unlimited #4, where Azazel is revealed to be Nightcrawler's father. Which really sucks because while Claremont wouldn't have gotten away with it in 1984, that story totally would have flown in 1994. But Lobdell listened to Claremont's plan and then deliberately decided he didn't like it and wrote his own crap. :(

Claremont said on a few occasions that he was planning on ALSO having Rogue revealed to be Mystique's biological child. I'm not sure she'd be Destiny's Child (lol) as well, though.

After a tease with a "What If" story from the 80's, I guess Conan the Barbarian is finally an Avenger now.

Haven't read this yet, but that lineup looks so 90's.
