As far as I know, just apps and ringtones.Well, that's dumb. Anything else not part of the backup I should know about so I'm not surprised when I can't find it?
After using this thing for a few hours, I honestly don't know how anyone could struggle too much to get used to the absence of the home button. I know people accustom to changes differently. But I was completely comfortable swiping up to go home and getting to the app switcher right out of the box.
If you just imagine each app as being a card you can pull out and swipe between, it all just sort of works how you want it to in your head. The screen being so responsive really goes a long way towards achieving that feel.
I ended up squeezing the charger in frustration and it worked!Sounds like the issue is probably the charger then, I am using the Samsung S8 wireless charger with my iPhone X and it works perfectly through my Apple Folio case.
Yep left works too.
I've not used ios in a while, is there any way to share to direct message with Twitter using ios share?
Oh that feels good. Made me say "yass" our loud.
I'm an idiot.
Hot damn, that's a really good tip. So far I thought you had to hold the finger on the screen after swiping up from the bottom on the screen till the switcher pops ups.

Did you try the low-angle method on the second faceID setup step? I was able to increase the angle it works at a little doing that. It's not huge but it helped.
Straight up you have to hold for a sec. Swipe it's instant.
So I got my phone today and was supposed to get a trade-in kit with it. Is that shipped separately or was it supposed to be part of the package? I never got one.
It's shipped separately. You should be able to see the tracking under your Apple orders
One thing driving me crazy is the tap to wake then swipe to unlock. I keep tapping twice or swiping twice (swipe won't wake it). Turned on raise-to-wake and its a little better though
Either way, just something to get used to
Ah okay, I didn't see that. Thanks! I had a mixup at work and my phone was delivered to the wrong building, so I was a little worried the return kit was lost as well.

Is there really no way to change website scaling? Everything is just way too gigantic.
I tried chrome and safari. Don't see any options?
Low-angle method? How do you mean, just tilting your head at more extreme angles?
After I tried to do that it seems like it is trying to detect at bigger angles, but the authentication fails every time.
On the second step hold the phone lower and have it look up from underneath your head sort of like it would if it were on a desk or table.
More impressions.
I've now had the phone through the day and it's now 7pm.
In portrait mode, control center is very difficult to reach. Reachability is also way more of a hassle because if you swipe down in the "home area", and there happens to be an element on the screen that you can touch around that area, and you accidentally touch it, it won't work.
Video apps are creating these "software bezels" on the sides of the video in landscape, making the usable area about the size of an iPhone 5. It completely kills the purpose of the big screen. These are optimized apps. YouTube and Netflix.
Animoji is super fun. I imagine using it in the future.
This phone is beautiful to use!
Way better after turning off that true tone bullshit.
Whaaa True Tone is so good it's like reading a backlit kindle or a book at night . So natural and good
side by side comparison between looking at resetera on my pixel 2 xl vs iphone x (from the shitty camera on my surface). Both phones roughly have the same vertical viewing display area, sure the X is a little skinnier, but damn why is the text and ui area gigantic on iphone? Can't even fit avatar and text on same line. Why isn't there a 'smaller scale mode' option like on iphone plus models?
If by natural you mean piss yellow — sure.
I like my whites pure or a touch on the cool side.
True Tone was way too warm for my blood. I'll use night shift for night reading.
I tried this, but didn't improve. It's on the desk, I look at it, the lock shakes. Maybe I'm farther than the 20 inches Apple recommends, but I'm not hunched over my desk when I'm working. Will try again later.
Double-tap on the video to make it full-screen with no bezels.
Agreed on Control Center, feel like it was fundamentally the wrong choice to put it up there.
It's waaay warmer on the X than my 7+ and iPad Pro. Really seems to undermine the idea of true tone. The Verge asked apple and they said it's just that the X has a better true tone light sensor though
True Tone + night shift = winWhaaa True Tone is so good it's like reading a backlit kindle or a book at night . So natural and good
It'll happen. Just like with Touch ID, it was very slow in the first iteration and by the time it was on the iPhone 6S, it was lighting fast.Face ID is noticeably slow but better than Touch ID. It's slow in that you notice it's working, which is annoying. The ideal Face ID would be invisible. Click, tap, swipe, who cares. You have no idea Face ID tried to authenticate you -- completely invisible. That would be ideal and I suspect attainable soon enough. Here's hoping it happens in two years.
I can't stand how yellow it is even iPad Pro. If X is even more yellow than that...lol, screw that crap. I don't understand why Apple just don't let people adjust neutral color temperature manually, and the maybe make True Tone work off of that initial setting. They should realize this is an individual preference for people, much like the amount of brightness. It's waaay warmer on the X than my 7+ and iPad Pro.
