That TERF woman is flying over the Tasman and will hold a rally in a park right next to my Alma mater next week.

The Green Party has asked the government to refuse her entry, which I hope will happen. She's literally just here to spread hate speech. We would literally be wasting public money to let her spread her harmful views (at a time when the council is planning budget cuts to almost everything, including tons of community services).

I'm beyond over these self-righteous, bigoted imbeciles and their asinine arguments. They don't know what it's like to be trans, don't care to even try to imagine what it's like, and have no empathy whatsoever. Irremediable twats the lot of them.

Sorry Hypron but they will likely let her in. And her local Nazi pals might show up too. And afterwards the politican responsible will do an inpotent condemnation on Twitter. And then she's off to her next destination.

It shouldn't have to be trans folk on the front lines against nazis… but who else has shown any support?

And yet Kelly what's-her-face has enough political and monetary backing to go on a world tour.

Part of the problem with trying to talk to Terfs about their fascist leanings here is, well, we are terrible in the UK when it comes to teaching about fascism. When learning about the second world war, we don't teach about what Germany was like before the rise of the third reich, we just learn about how we gave the nazis a rolly good trashing. Hell, many people don't know that the holocaust involved the genocide of more than just Jewish people.

Anyone who has read Christopher and his Kind, or watched the adaptation starring Matt Smith, would be able to see the direct parallels between living as a gay man in 30's Berlin, and living as trans in modern Britain. The language used, the justifying of sheer hatred as not actual hatred but having "legitimate concerns," a rising authoritarian regime building on that hatred to consolidate their power.

We don't call terfs nazis because we disagree with them, but because they use the language and behaviour of nazis. Of the people who brought the third reich to power.

It's up to the cis, which don't care...aka the entire reason this escalates by the day.

As a cis male myself, it bothers me to no end. Which is why I keep sharing posts and news from and about trans people. It's the least I can do with the limited reach that I have. I know quite a few who are trans and I worry for them.

It sucks.

It continues to be weird to watch the continued return of open fascism. The 'destroy' in the banner below is literal. They want us dead. So do the Gender Critical crowd despite, for the most part, not openly saying it in as uncertain terms as out and out nazis do.

There's a reason the two keep happening to be found in the same place though, but we remain stuck in a time where the British press are happy to champion them as saviours of women. Having the gall to refer to them as modern day suffragettes.

I used to wonder when people were going to wake the fuck up, but I've come to realise they won't. We crossed the line of being obvious a long time ago.

"Posie Parker", a friend of Rowling's, is fine with Nazis being next to them to call for the eradication of trans people. Saw this cartoon about it, based on actual pictures and videos, so thought I'd share it here too because it's the truth. Once Nazis have infiltrated your rally, and you don't do anything to kick them out, you're part of a Nazi rally.

This is how Nazis operate btw, they infiltrate any protest in order to try and get others to join them. Seen it happen in my country during various protests as well. Mostly the ones that are supposed to protest against government policies. Whether it is a protest for a good cause or not. People have to be more vigilant.

So did this make the mainstream news anywhere? In Australia at least?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-03...move-to-expel-mp-who-attended-rally/102117788

This is 11th story down on the National News section of the ABC website: https://www.abc.net.au/news/

I recall seeing mention of neo-nazis attending the event in yesterday's news however that story is already gone from the main page

For those outside Australia the Liberal party here is our conservative/right wing party.

Are you fucking kidding me?

*legit proof that a woman known for hanging with nazis is hanging with nazis and cheering on women being silenced*

Rowling and friends: It was the "gender extremists" causing all the problems and you didn't see them condemning the nazis!

When I load the ABC news page it's the number 1 story above all others. Labor, Liberals and Greens have all condemned the rally and voiced support of trans people, both major parties are working together to ban the Nazi salute, the police have released statements saying they wanted to do something to stop the rally and arrest the Nazis but didn't have the legal standing to do so, and the Liberal party member who attended the rally is going to be expelled from the party.

I understand we all get caught up in the outrage sometimes, but we have a lot to be optimistic about in the response here. It's a horrible situation that may lead to important changes, and the government is clearly in support of trans people.

Not sure what part of my post suggested I was outraged, or even what my stance was on the general political response to the event. I was simply answering someone's question.

I don't know where you're seeing it as the number one story, is there a separate sub-page I'm missing?

Rowling turning a blind eye to out and out nazis supporting her group, in order to suggest trans people are the ones ok with nazis. Why am I not surprised.

Sorry, I didn't mean you specifically. That's just bad communication on my part. I just replied to your comment regarding it not being a major story because it comes up as the top story for me. The other comments were meant as a separate, general observation.

I've just been seeing a lot of anger in my circles directed at everyone other than the bigots in question (government, police, etc) rather than holding the bigots themselves accountable. I just wanted to point out the good that has come from this, because that's what matters most to me.

I don't know how to attach a picture of the ABC site, maybe the difference is that I use ABC news quite a lot (a few times a day) and may have things set up that it prioritises news from Victoria? Or maybe there's an algorithm thing happening. All I know is it comes up as number 1 for me.

Sorry for any confusion.

All good! I just changed the feed to "Victoria Top Stories" and it is right there at the top. So at least from a state perspective, it's very present, national level not so much (online anyway).

I really do hope the salute is criminalised, it seems absurd that it isn't already. I also think we're "lucky" that our conservative party is so quick to expel an MP over this. Highly doubt that would happen in the US/UK.

Far out, you're right. I had it set on Victoria and not national. My bad.

Glad there's no hard feelings. We're all on the same team.

The cops saying they "wanted to do something" re the Nazism is such utter bullshit. They could have absolutely moved them on, but chose not to. I hope that they're called out on this.

Having seen the video footage, you can tell this is bullshit because the nazis march directly towards the protesters and instead of the police forcing them to march on the space that they already had reserved for them, they forced the protesters back to give the nazis more.

It feels impossible to process that literal fucking nazis are being defended. They've got their way in and no one fucking cares.

This has been a literal project of Western capital for 80 years, ever since capital elected to import or rehabilitate every Nazi in sight after the second world war, specifically for their "usefulness" in suppressing Communism and other left-wing movements. You can google bunches of particulars: operation paperclip, klaus barbie, operation gladio, "two genocides" and black book of communism horseshit, the absolute demonization and actual wars waged against any actually existing socialist project, endless coups and assassinations, etc. The point is that to Western capital, Communists and socialists represent a very real threat to their material interests and fascists do not. Westerners are often very shortsighted on this topic because this propaganda is purposefully incredibly pervasive.

Anyone think the success of Hog game is encouraging her even more?
Whilst terrible for years, it seems like she's only getting bolder about it.
That and the Elon-ing of twitter to bring back her pals

The continued success of any Rowling affiliated commercial venture will always encourage her.

It was going to.

People consuming Rowling affiliated commercial venture will continue to kid themselves this isn't true even when she has said it out loud more than once.

This is actually dishearteningly scary. It's getting to the point where any non cis person or any allies out in the streets like this should be armed.

I think this headcase (Posie Parker) is on her way to Dublin for a "let Women Speak" rally. I'm guessing that there will be a large counter protest from the reaction.
