Well, JCVD is a weird case.
First, he's not french, he's belgian (still Europe, ok). Then, he spend so much time in the US that i think he identified himself as an American. I mean, one of the reasons with love having him on french talk shows is because he can't speak french properly. Despite being a native french speaker, when he attempt to speak french, he ALWAYS stumble on words and revert to english ones, even for things really common. And this has been the case for a good 20 years by now.
Jackie Chan? Please tell me it ain't soJackie Chan, JCVD, Stallone... all jerks. At least from the 80/90s I still have Arnold and Chow Yun-Fat.
I think you'd be surprised. He's said a lot of seriously idiotic things over the years.I don't believe that JC honestly literally believes that if we let gay people marry, children will cease to be produced. Yeah he comes off as dumb but he can't lack that kind of critical thinking.

French talk shows suck. Most hosts, if not all, are pure assholes (looking at you, Cyril Hanouna) and just like US TV, they give biggots the spotlight to make some buzz.
Talking about Hanouna, that asshole actually outed a gay guy on live TV by talking to him through a gay dating website, which could be problematic for the person since France is still in the middle ages in terms of being welcoming to LGBTQ people.
EDIT: source on this, in french: https://www.huffingtonpost.fr/2017/...iege-un-homosexuel-sos-homophobie_a_22098738/
This is so weird. Van Damme is fully aware that Fedor is the real hero here. I mean, we've all watched the 80's Kickboxer movies and hoped we would one day be as badass, but growing up you realize it's acting and that real fighting is a different ballgame.
The relation between both is that imo french talk shows are horrible. What the relation exactly between Ruquier's show and Hanouna lol ?
One is a dumb gag filled access prime time and the other a late night show with artists and politics talking together. It's actually a show that lest people talk aboutpretty smart things, philosophers, writers etc.. and let a pretty big time to do so. It's fucking stupid to be all "yeah french tv is dumb" and to compare it to Hanouna.
Actually, JCVD, in any other show would be free to say any dumb shit, but there he everyone was like "aaawkward" and the woman was telling him he was shocking. Even Ruquier, who's gay and has to keep being nice to his guests, was lecturing him softly. Ruquier was more in the attitude of a gay guy being all "yeah don't worry the guy is hopeless, no reason to be mad he's just a mess"
By the way JCVD also said on an other french show, many years ago something like "well yeah i'm gay i guess cause i find my body beautiful"

He's basically a stooge for the Chinese government, not to mention his illegitimate child he refuses to acknowledge or support.
I've heard A LOT about him and it's more (shall we say) extreme than that.
But basically this.
I thought Arnold also had his own story of sexual harrasment...
I mean he barely supports his son. He spends all his money on charity and said that if his son wants money then he should work hard and earn it lol. He's basically a stooge for the Chinese government, not to mention his illegitimate child he refuses to acknowledge or support.

The fact that Ruquier didn't simply tell JVCD to leave tells a lot about that and how France still treats homosexuals.
Btw, I love your art Orioto :)
He's always been a poster boi for toxic masculinity. He's also always been a complete moron.
Just look at these JCVD quotes:
I get that, completely. I just fear that that's a lost cause on some "older" people. Imo if you still think like this nowadays at age 30+, there's not much that can change your mind.Thx!
They simply believe it's better to educate, or try to educate a guy like that and moderate his talk with smart people counter arguing.
That's precisely why it's less dumb than having a show where the host becomes crazy mad and ejects a guy cause he doesn't like his moronic views.
Now i know in a place like era the philosophy is more about banning people who don't think like they should, but that's actually not the best society model in my opinion. That's a pretty immature one actually.
Well this really bums me out.
That's three out of four action heroes growing up.
