People are already putting together online harassment "gangs" inspired by the movie. #JokerGang is one on Twitter. Won't be long until they move it to real life and start beating up people while wearing clown masks.

Disney put the least amount of effort in trying to do something fresh with a new take on one of their properties and audiences showed they literally don't give a shit.Truth. They even somehow got the crappy Lion King remake in the top 10 highest grossing movies, and I can never forgive them for that lol
And so? Joker is also a symbol of silly gamer rise up and mocking edgelord memes. Do you expect DC to kill off the character and never use him again because some bad people make use of him?
Frankly it's kind of annoying how MCU fans are trying to bring up a moral panic over a film just because they're mad at critics/award committees for not properly praising Kevin Feige and his films. Marvel doesn't deserve awards for simply existing. No one does. The billions of dollars they've earned at the BO should be enough for them and their fans.
Which is all funny considering it used to be DCEU fans who were the ones raging at critics a few years back.

Damn dude you went hard. I do agree with you though.
I think we should at least wait for the movie to come out first before we all start acting like we've all actually seen the movie.

Era doesn't have a problem with Joker being a good film. Just a few salty MCU/Disney fans seem to though.
I don't recall ever seeing concern trolling for a movie on this level before.
Movie critics actively participating in concern trolling is a first I think.
Did you pull that straight out of my ass?
No. Antman did.
I can't wait for the internet fall out when Joker gets a best picture nom and not Endgame.
Anyway, very unexpected honestly. I had no idea Todd Philips had it in him.
This is truly it. The alt right has won the culture war. There's no going back.

Would you say the Joker has changed things? This is truly it. The alt right has won the culture war. There's no going back.
Also regarding co-opting clowns, even if not Joker specifically. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clandestine_Insurgent_Rebel_Clown_ArmyI had no idea the new Joker was being used by the alt-right. How?
What I'm reading here in Europe about the movie is quite the opposite. Reviewers are saying the movie reflects on the gap between classes, social injustice, and echo movements such as Occupy Wall Street.
"The workers' rage turned here into street violence finds in a clown's face the symbol of an uncomfortable revolution, which mobilizes the bases against the powerful, against the same sick society that has created its new champion of social justice".
The Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army (also known as CIRCA and Clown Army[1]) is an anti-authoritarian left-wing activist group that uses clowning and non-violent tactics to act against corporate globalisation, war, and on other issues. The group originated circa 2003 in the United Kingdom.
CIRCA has active groups in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark, Germany, and Israel, and many other groups have appeared that have been inspired by the work of the original group
I must be missing something. Can someone explain all the alt right references in this thread in relation to the movie?
I am concerned that studios start making decisions on whether to produce films based on the monetary gains they get from such a decision more than because the movie itself is worth making.

Jokers trick?
I heard from someone's article about someone who read the script that someone who watches it might get incel like ideas so therefore fuck this movie
Haha what?!Basically a theory Marvel people made up to sow discourse regarding this movie... it holds no water
Maybe five days from now he'll explain that awful post.
You're not missing anything, this forum is just full of ridiculous people who need to take a break from the internet.I guess the alt right only exists in the United States? Or am I missing something?
Venice is down! I repeat, Venice is down!I guess the alt right only exists in the United States? Or am I missing something?
