Yeah, so I've heard. But there are no release date and that kinda make me worry.
I wouldn't worry too much, XSEED usually doesn't give release dates until they're fairly close to it and sure they can make itYeah, so I've heard. But there are no release date and that kinda make me worry.
you don't have to worry about CS2 PC at all, Durante is working on it fulltime atm and he is a literal PC wizard. The reason there is no date is because XSEED had gotten anxious about announcing a release too early over the years following issues with other games, especially with Kiseki they are very precarious about it.Yeah, so I've heard. But there are no release date and that kinda make me worry.
They misunderstood. To be fair, what do you expect people to do when you literally call it "End of Saga". Dumb name. Might increase their sales though, so maybe not that dumb.So I stumbled upon this article on Siliconera and am I reading this this is the final Trails ? Translation error ? Pretty sure I read the latest investor meeting and Kondo said like we all knew it's the last Erebonia game and we're now moving to a new country.
Definitely a translation error from the ones who gave us Trails in the Flash.
This one?I have an OST question: At the end of Sora no Kiseki 3rd, the song that plays in Hermit's Garden changes to a different song. I've been looking through different OST but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated.
I found this French Let's play on Youtube. Part 41 starts with the song I'm looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdAlFjV70Gg&list=PL0KUXin9XFSZHg3szgNwk3-CD1NKgWgdg&index=41
Thanks!
the worst art of that is that they reported that the game was set during the hundred days warDefinitely a translation error from the ones who gave us Trails in the Flash.

Would be interesting to hear what Falcoms actual inspiration was with Calvard, once they flesh it out even more in the next arc. With Liberl I was kinda suprised that it was inspired by Thailand. (Though it makes a lot of sense, since it resisted Western powers for so long)Calvard seems like such a crazy country based on what I've seen and read. America + Republican China + Russia.

From the wiki (http://legendofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Liberl_Kingdom) and I vaguely remember reading a translated interviewWhere did you get this? I thought it was based on Japan or Belgium since it was balanced between two great powers but aligned with a more republican one (France/USA) and had a constitutional monarchy that was relatively stable. Both Belgium and Japan were/are economic superpowers and super innovators in their respective regions.
Kondo once said it was inspired by Thailand indeed, but it probably is more about his personal experience having lived in Thailand as a child that is said influence.Where did you get this? Thailand was dominated by two powers (Britain/Japan), has been non-industrialized and has had like 70 coups in 100 years.
Dominated, but not colonized. Which makes it unique in South-East Asia. To quote WikipediaWhere did you get this? That is totally modern Liberl politics, that is staying neutral despite the animosities between Calvard and Erebonia.Despite European pressure, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian nation to never have been colonized.[29] This has been ascribed to the long succession of able rulers in the past four centuries who exploited the rivalry and tension between the French and British Empire

Another thing are the Tetracyclic towers, and generally the impressive architecture of ancient Liberl.
Look familiar? The inspiration is pretty clear, when you take time to consider it. Not everything must be Europocentric and its awesome that a Japanese developer takes a small, and in its history and heritage not well known country as a source to draw new creative ideas from. That's why I look forward to Calvard.
So, I got a blue screen of death today. It's about time my 8 year old computer started to give in. I managed to turn it back on after a while, so hopefully I can finish the 3rd before it stops working for good. Anyway, here are some very brief impressions:
I loved how Ries called Kevin on his bullshit. I expected him to come clean, so it's interesting to see him choosing to keep the facade. It's a shame she won't be joining this chapter. Joshua becomes mandatory which doesn't really matter because I've been using him since Chapter 2 anyway. Who else should I take on this chapter? I'm thinking Kloe and a physical attacker. Is Thunder God Kick still bugged?
Also, considering the super brief image at the end of Ch2, I assume Rufina died because of Kevin? It looked like them, anyway. I don't know why I thought she was a Dominion too, but she's just Knight. Still, from her conversation with Ein she went toe to toe against someone from Ouroboros (Loewe?) so she must be pretty strong.
FOV basically zooms the camera out more. Personally I set it as high as possible, but it's also more resource intensive. It's really up to performance and personal preference.Newbro question. Playing Trails of Cold Steel on PC, what's a good FOV to play in?
I hope your PC will hold outRufina absolutely was strong, there is a reason she was Ein's squire and friend after all. Ein even remarks in a scene it is a shame Rufina has no stigma with her mind and strength.

And yeah, my PC just gave me the screen again... so to be safe, I installed the game on my brother's notebook. What determines someone having a stigma? Or am I not supposed to know yet?
Anyway, here are my impressions of the doors I've completed so far.
This door completely took me by surprised since it started automatically. The enemies were easy to beat with Tita's Smoke Cannon. And then we got to the story... and it was long. I'm not sure why Falcom didn't give us control of Tita to at least allow us to save. Erika and Russell's dynamic was hilarious and I'm glad Tita got some much needed character development. She always felt like the supporting character in other people's character arcs. Since the ending said Part 1 finished, I assume there's a part 2 involving Agate, judging from the description. As a Kloe fan, this was one of my favorite doors so far. It was nice to see her opening up to her friends and coming to terms with her weaknesses. And this was the first appearance of Lechter! His interactions with Kloe were interesting. I hope they get to meet again in future games. Kloe deserves some romance in her life. But thats a story for another door.
I did notice something, however. If I remember correctly, Kloe said in FC it was Jill who came up with the name 'Kloe' by combining parts of her full name. Then how come she introduces herself as Kloe right of the bat?Fun minigame, but it went on longer than it should. Kyle and Don are good characters imo, so it's a shame we get stuck with Josette cuz I don't really care for her. She's a bit too whiny and bratty for me. But I liked the Capua backstory, simple as it was. This door was a lot more fun than I expected. Julia sure has some low self-esteem, huh? The scene with her fans was comedy gold. I don't think they'll ever get together, but I kind of ship her and Mueller. Speaking of Mueller, his battle was tough. I lost the first time but I was determined to beat him so I reloaded my save and did it on my second try. Julia's basic attacks was pitiful so I had to rely only on her S-Crafts for damage. Her arts were too costly so I only used my EP for healing. I managed to beat him, but turns out I preferred the scene with her losing, lol. Anyway, the ending was sweet. I'm glad Kloe's not wearing that wig anymore. She looks much better now.Not much to say about this door other than it was a lot of interesting lore dump. I assume the censored name the report was talking about was Weissmann, correct? It would match the information the report gave. Kinda ironic he was killed with what killed his parents and almost ruined his homeland. I guess the Salt Pale is the reason the Northern Jaegers work to give money to North Ambria, right? My favorite door. The conversation between Kloe and Joshua was so good and it hit close to home. I've been in Kloe's shoes before. But the way both handled it was really nice. Going around talking to everyone was really fun. It felt like the perfect epilogue to SC. And lol at Amalthea. She's obsessed with Richard, isn't she?I thought this door would be about Zin, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much development Kilika got. I hope we get to see her again.
That's all I've done for now. Whew, that got a bit long.
The things we do for our trails :mishy:And yeah, my PC just gave me the screen again... so to be safe, I installed the game on my brother's notebook.

Jill and Hans giving her the name Kloe was something XSEED invented in the localization, and it came back to bite them on the ass by creating a minor plot hole here. It really irks me and I hope they'll patch it out at some point.
do you know the exact line of that dialogue because I tried searching for it but i cannot find it hereunless they already changed it from the PC version
weird, because that database is a straight rip of the text files of the pc versions combined with the EVO voicesIt doesn't have that embellishment in that database, but I'm pretty sure it still is that way in the game. Not sure why it's different here. I'm certainly not aware of any patch containing script edits since I became aware of it.
Crazy thing is, it's running better than on my PC! No more waiting a few seconds between screens.

i'mjust going to copy paste what i think about that article from another place; So is it a localization holdover from the PSP version? Should probably be addressed at some point.
EDIT: we talk about this Kotaku article from yesterday already? Saw some tweets from Hatsuu about it.
This article seems to be outdated.
I'm guessing Schreier hasn't kept up as well as he normally would.
Could of swore he's posted a few times in the game OTs back in the old place. For all his talk about chaining himself up over SC, I don't even think he finished the Sky trilogy or started Cold Steel.
Agreed with this.I like Schreier. He does hand-down the best investigative journalism on the gaming industry. His JRPG tastes align really well with mine: he likes Trails, Radiant Historia, The Last Story, FFXII, and he doesn't like Xenoblade.(Speaking of which, Schreier does some great writing on JRPG's, and his not liking one series shouldn't make him ineligible for writing about them. And for any game that's released, even if it's critically acclaimed, it's okay to have dissenting reviews. Schreier didn't like Xenoblade Chronicles. I didn't like XC and I wanted to know if I'd like XC2, so his review is important to me. Like, if you want affirmation that a certain game is good because you think it's going to be good based on the tenuous fact that you liked previous games in the series, go find another review. I could maybe understand if it's a person who hates the entire genre and doesn't give a shit about it, but Schreier loves some JRPG's and not others, which makes his voice unique and important.)
That being said, the recent Trails article he put out is just... not very good. He knows how difficult it was to get SC localized (he wrote a long article about it). And yet the article is poorly-researched, and is a little disrespectful to the people who are doing their very best to make sure the series can reach a Western audience. I'm pretty sure it wasn't his intention to come off this way - I don't want to assume intentions, but maybe he wanted to put out a quick article to raise Trails' visibility - but it does, and I hope he can do better next time.
Localization doesn't need to be (and typically isn't) performed in-house. It just requires them to work closer (and sooner) with whichever external partner they choose.Falcom is a tiny developer. Incorporating an English translation would likely mean hiring a writer or two just for that, plus one editor. According to this (https://twitter.com/endlesshistory/status/683430914811162625?lang=en) Falcom had 49 people. So hiring a small team for the English localisation is probably an expense they would rather avoid. Especially when their games aren't exactly selling like gangbuster over here. Now, admittedly, it's a bit of a chicken and egg problem, if they don't start localizing them earlier, they will likely never garner a larger fanbase. Waiting 5 years for a game that looked like a game from 10 years ago, when it was released, is probably not a great business strategy.
The reactions here seem hyper-defensive for no apparent reason (and lol "Kotaku is trash the JRG fandom hates Schreier").
The article is a literal statement of facts: the series is incomplete in the West (with no guarantee that any of the rest of it will come over), and Falcom seems (for whatever reason) to be perfectly fine with treating it like an afterthought (there's no technical limitation that would prevent them from incorporating the localization efforts into the actual development schedule, rather than waiting until the game is out in Japan before shopping around for a group with the time and skill to translate).
Now, it is a pointless article, but it doesn't say anything about XSEED or really much of anything about the actual localizations (except that NIS' Ys VIII was trash).

i looked around because i was in a discussion about this article and himin general somewhere else. He has written several good articles about Trails in the Sky and Cold Steel but he claims he has not been able to plat 3rd because his laptop broke which sounds so weird. I guess it would mean he would work on an Apple system but i cannot imagine why you would do that as a video game journalistFor all his talk about chaining himself up over SC, I don't even think he finished the Sky trilogy or started Cold Steel.
And yeah, for someone as knowledgeable about the industry and localization as Schreier that's a pretty terrible article.
well of course reactions are "hyper-defensive", this thread is filled with superfans that actually spent effort to understand the whole fact instead of half the fact he wrote in that trash articleThe reactions here seem hyper-defensive for no apparent reason (and lol "Kotaku is trash the JRG fandom hates Schreier").
