Please be Mafia 4 and not some mobile or live service bullshit, since a Mafia 2 Remake similar to Mafia D:E is probably not going to happen.

I dunno how I feel about that, on one hand it's refreshing yet on the other the whole end of 1920's esthetic is, to me, what Mafia games are all about. And this is someone that loved Mafia 3 and finished it multiple times with all it's DLC's and I actually own it on 3 platforms.

But I'm still exited and really looking forward to finding out all I can about the game.

Honestly the title felt ominous, I was worried the announcement would be "its canceled"

But sounds like we are getting a trailer, which is exciting. I hope they can go back to tighter story focused stuff from 1&2 rather than the loop 3 had. Also, gimme more realism like 1, and to a lesser extent, 2 had.

Loved Mafia 3, maybe a top 10 from last gen for me, i didnt experience any of the negatives some people seem to have with it so hopefully it follows that in terms of story and storytelling and mechanics etc

I havent played the first two but intend to at some point, i know theyre a bit different to 3 though

Well, 1 was remade (really well), 2 was remastered (badly) and I just think 3 was re-released, since it was on the same platforms as it originally released on.

So yes its almost certainly the long rumored sequel in the series.... Or they are gonna remake Mafia 2 so the gigantic amount of cut content can be added back in.

Agreed. It's an Assassin's-Creed-set-in-Japan type of no brainer. Genuinely surprised it hasn't happened across four games.

Mafia 4 cancelled 😔

Hopefully it's more similar to 1 and 2 game design-wise. I still haven't finished 3, despite it's great setting. It just didn't click like 1 Remake and 2 (the Remaster that everyone hates even lol)

Mafia DE, 2 and 3 have the best feeling open world vehicle physics(GTA IV also belongs here).... such a joy to play. Hopefully whatever is coming next will continue to have that perfect simcade weight and momentum during gameplay.

Not sure how to feel about rumored prequel though.... i need those roaring muscle cars.

Would be nice in the meantime to get 60fps updates for DE, 3 on consoles or/and patch-in missing fantastic HDR to PC versions 🙄

Loved the first 2 games, was enjoying the story and characters of the third game as well, but the gameplay and the repetition was just way too much and I ended up dropping it.

Hopefully in terms of gameplay design they go back to something more in line with the first game. Give me an open world that is a vessel for the story. I don't need a million side activities to do in the OW as long as the story is good and interesting and has a well tuned pacing.

I hope it's good - to be honest I thought they'd moved on from the series. I liked aspects of Mafia 3 but the biggest problem was how repetitive it felt.

I just want a better 3. 3, narratively, is fucking amazing, it just has a truly awful open world.

I know they'll over correct and go back to the Italian mob, and probably still have a truly awful open world.

Watch it go the way of Sleepy Dogs and be a multiplayer.. thing that literally nobody wants.

I dunno about it being a prequel. Even shittier cars is not something on my wishlist.

However, according to our information, a new Mafia is about to be unveiled. We've gotten a few hints from insiders abroad before. In the last few weeks, the Mafia reveal has also been talked about behind the scenes in the Czech Republic. I won't put my hand in the fire for that, but if I had to choose, I would point my finger at Mafia. Actually, it wouldn't be a surprise if Hangar 13 studio made an announcement before the Summer Game Fest in June.
