It's just that I wished they wouldn't be so tone deaf.
Other companies are on the Pro LGBT train so why are game companies so backwards?
Because being on the pro LGBT train doesn't really mean anything, and I'm sure if you asked every employee of LRG, they'd probably enthusastically be very supportive of LGBT rights and representation.
Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are pro LGBT, and they're still paying criminally low taxes using every loophole available. But hey, at least they like the gays!
Or how about this picture:
I'm sure every one of those folks is a decent human being that loves their kids, considers their words, and pets stray dogs. Nestle also tries to rape indigenous lands of water sources, fucked over new mothers in developing nations, etc. But hey, at least they love the gays!
I used to bring this point up in threads, and I just got shouted down at best, and accused of being a member of these idiotic 8chan-style groups at worst, so I just stopped making the point, but hey, fuck it- if you use a car, any form of electronic device including video game consoles and phones, or have ever bought produce sourced from South America (in the US, you likely have), you're supporting evil. It's part of living in a society. Accusing LRG of supporting pedophilia because they're publishing a twenty year old game for a much larger publisher and probably going to experience a great deal of growth and success as a result just feels like a reason to dunk on a small business doing what they can to be successful at something they're passionate about.
Also I'm not sure what you mean when you say "Other companies are on the Pro LGBT train so why are game companies so backwards?"
What metric are you using here? The few B-tier and indie publishers that have these disastrous PR stunts? How about all the major publishers and platform holders and developers turning their avatars into pride-themed rainbows and wearing pins at E3, the industry's biggest show? Game companies aren't backwards. Stop it with this.
