Boris has resigned. Queen is in charge at the moment until Truss turns up😂

She might see another tory PM come and go before she kicks the bucket, they don't last long these days.

After 2019 it wouldn't have been absurd to talk about him being in power for a decade. So this is a very good moment, one to enjoy. The culmination of his failure as a human being.

Yeah, getting turfed out must really sting for someone like him, he thought he was the dogs bollocks and he blew an 80 seat majority.

Ahh that explains why the movie The Thing was trending on twitter in the UK today.

Well Boris did say it would take a flamethrower to get him out of Downing Street.

Charles will do it. He becomes king automagically when she dies, and even if she's just incapacitated, her duties as monarch can still be delegated to him (like with the most recent opening of parliament).

lol
I just wanted her waiting around awkwardly for a few hours but they would jet her or him to a quick meeting i suppose.

Is this the first time the monarch has been over twice the age of the PM? In a long time anyway.

Liz T is 47 and Liz W is 96.

Next time just invite another Tory MP or Telegraph client journalist who will say exactly the same things Joe did without the layer of sarcasm.

Holy shit, the plan is literally to borrow public money to pay inflated prices to private energy firms with loans to payback. Talk about kicking the can down the road to duck over all of us.

All she has are political contacts and insiders, especially within government circles and those are of course more important than being a critical journalist. She's just a government mouthpiece at this point. Cummings confirmed as much in an interview.

"Sources in No10 tell me Boris Johnson saved a kitten from a burning building"

Laying the foundations with some quality people.
https://www.theguardian.com/politic...-chief-of-staff-as-truss-selects-inner-circle

Liz Truss has started appointing advisers to her inner circle, with political consultant Mark Fullbrook becoming chief of staff and Ruth Porter getting the deputy chief role.

Truss has given the top job to Fullbrook, a political consultant who has worked for decades with Lynton Crosby, the electoral strategist, after he co-ran her campaign.

Porter is a former adviser to Truss from her time as justice secretary, who subsequently worked for the London Stock Exchange and FGS Global, the communications firm.

Others entering No 10 include Sophie Jarvis, a policy adviser who formerly worked for the Adam Smith Institute, a rightwing thinktank. Matt Sinclair, who formerly worked for the TaxPayers' Alliance campaigning for lower taxes, will become her economics chief.

I laughed my face off so much, I told my old man Cummings is clearly informing her or has someone informing her - he said no, the government wouldn't dare.

He did a full 180 to Cummings was just a wrong un feeding her lies when he said it was him.

The Boris resignation Honours list is going to be a sight to see. Fully expect it to be come out on a Friday when no one is looking.

You'll find a lot of tories think she's a labour stooge. My old man gets riled up whenever he sees her.

Same for mine, he also blurted out the BBC are a bunch of socialists whenever anything critical of Prince Charles comes up, like they have an anti monarchy agenda, leave him alone, his charity is great etc.

So freeze rates, allow private energy companies to avoid a windfall tax and have the taxpayers make up the shortfall. Oh, I see. So when Truss pledged no handouts to tackle a national cost of living crisis, she really meant that we essentially give the energy companies handouts.

EDIT: Never mind, the updated plan appears to just be to borrow a shitload of money to finance the freeze.

Phew. Now I'm very reassured. This thread is reassured. The whole country is reassured. As a very right wing person I am loving the sound of all this.

Didn't they also get a tax break when they did that windfall tax last time so basically they came out even or better off regardless.

do they all get to do that no matter how long they've been in power? You should build it up pro rata like you do for holiday at work. So he should only get to give out 10 honours
