Here we go, first black enchantment removal in a Standard set! Seems good.
There are some crazy commons in general in this set.
Story summary.
It... exists. Sure would have been nice to see a lot of this on cards.
If you're wondering,
* Klothys willingly stayed in the underworld to keep the titans locked up.
* Ashiok torments Elspeth with nightmares for a bit, sees Phyrexians in her nightmares, goes, "Screw this place, I'm going where those are!" and peaces out of Theros. Ashiok doesn't appear at all during the main chunk of the story.
* During one of these nightmares, Elspeth extracted her dark spear.
* Heliod just one day decides he doesn't want the other gods around and resurrects Daxos to go around and destroy the other temples. This pisses off the other gods and they create their own demigods.
* Erebos is so pissed off by this that he accidentally opens rifts to the underworld.
* Klothys is trying to stop people from escaping the underworld herself, since Erebos isn't doing anything about it.
* She creates Calix specifically to stop Elspeth, knowing she's more powerful.
* Calix and Elspeth fight many times, with her winning every time, but he's getting more powerful. Eventually, Elspeth beats him one final time.
* Heliod waits at Elspeth's exit from the underworld. Thanks to the renown and devotion Elspeth has gained, Elspeth one-shots him, and Erebos gladly places Heliod under a huge boulder.
* Elspeth briefly reunites with Daxos, then planeswalks away.
* Having lost his purpose, Calix is in despair, until he sparks and planeswalks after Elspeth to continue his hunt.
