Oops I just endorsed genocide. It was just a prank bro!

These people will only be held responsible when the law treats them as coconspirators.

He's a gateway diet racist doing front line recruitment. He's "just joking around" while casually promoting more extreme channels, to get people to the next level.

What a serious piece of shit.

I don't know what judgement the NZ court system will inflict, but I hope these fucks live long lives and suffer every moment.

And it's pathetic seeing all these right wing enablers trying to cover their asses.

Why are white men so angry and full of hate?

Dude... come on now.

Didn't sleep last night, because of the news and also no joke I was afraid that this would be some kind of globally coordinated terrorist attack and more white supremacists would go on a shooting spree this morning in the US

This is the sole purpose of terrorism. Go live your life without fear dude - there is nothing going but the work of crazy fucks in distant NZ.

Yeah, thanks. I just read that Bellingcat article an hour ago, but I had assumed it was a red-herring by mentioning Owens. PewDiePie is a red-herring too and just a way for white nationalist to infect any topic involving him. Its not hard to imagine white nationalist reaching for PewDiePie's massive audience in a bid to "recruit." Their tool is subversion and the best way to do this is through meme's and Pie's one of the biggest meme-generators on the internet due to his immense popularity. White nationalism is tired of living in the fringes. It's the mainstream that they want and Pie, subversion, memes, and pop culture are the vectors they will co-op, willing or unwilling.
Do you really think they would have co-opted him had he not endorsed white supremacy channels, used the n-word repeatedly as an insult, joked about the Holocaust, etc.?

This isn't an unheard of mantra and I don't believe it's rooted in conservative conspiracy. Most make this argument as a way to prevent the glorification of the individual--and a way of discouraging copy-cat behavior. But that doesn't mean conservatives won't say the same thing with different motivation.

You're being willingly ignorant then. If you think otherwise then show us the same accounts doing the same for mass murderers that aren't directly linked to their moronic rhetoric.

It's a pretty popular sentiment, and a sound one, in a sense. The argument being that all this media attention to the shooter, the amount of victims, his manifesto, ... might end up attracting copy cats. It's just that everyone with half a brain knows why that shapiro fella is saying it in this particular instance.

Yeah I absolutely understand that. Moreso was commenting on the double standard of burying all mention when the shooter aligns with white nationalist ideologies. (Like in that tweet earlier with how Shapiro was sure to make mention of all the details relating to the Florida nightclub attack). I only have a cursory knowledge of people like Shapiro, PDP, Boogie etc due to Era. I feel like I'm really shielded from this shit since I'm not on Twitter and barely use YouTube and social media.

I've watched a couple of Contrapoints videos just to better understand their "playbook" but to see it ultimately culminate into a tragedy of this magnitude and to have these smokescreen tactics deployed to mask their part in cultivating these scum is sickening to see. We live in such sad fucking times man. I've been down all morning from this shit.

Lots of emotion on this event.
Most anger, anger that could last for days.
If we could harness that anger we could probably solve any energy crisis now.
This evil is so crass, it didn't even come from people who suffered any loss and lashed out at the world in a blaze of violence, it's just some random dweeb with internet whose cause is so evil there is no justification for it.
Never forget that this is the end goal of the white supremacy death cult, they don't want to share or live peacefully, they want people who are not them dead.
Recognize the snake for what it is and we do have to work together to expunge this plague.

Did you read the last sentence of my post? I think Ben Shaprio and others like him are co-opting the "don't share rhetoric" for their own purposes. But saying "Don't share this" isn't inherently a conservative conspiracy like some are suggesting in this thread.

I was debating about whenever or not Hollywood Studio was good in the Theme Parks on 4chan's /co/ at the time this shit was happening

But okay, illusion of safety much?

The site is still host to racism, sexism, white supremacy, transphobia, homophobia, and literal Nazis. Don't pretend it isn't.

I really don't know. It's something I've been trying to figure out since I was twelve. Why do you guys hate us so much? It just seems irrational, life is hard enough so why'd you want to waste it on hating blacks and muslims?
You do realize that this is the same rhetoric used when people blamed muslims, as a whole group, after the 9/11 attacks right?

"Why do THEY hate us"?

I assumed most people were familiar with not sharing it being recommended by most criminologists etc... and you were suggesting the commentators might have been acting in good faith when they're blatantly not. My mistake.

What's the difference between 2chan/4/8?

2chan is a Japanese message board
4chan was created as the western version of 2chan since there was no similar board like it in English

other chans are mostly copycats of 4chan

4chan has received a lot of bad press over the years and have tried to clean up the boards somewhat, I think 8chan is almost like a no-rules zone where stuff that isn't allowed on 4chan goes. 7chan is also a thing, sort of a rival to 4chan but I don't know much about it.

What's the difference between 2chan/4/8?

2ch - Japanese site focused on anime/video game discussion. Hive of activity for otaku and other people who aren't exactly beloved by Japanese society, but not exactly a hive of villainy or controversy.

4ch- An American goes on 2ch and decides to make a clone of the site but in English instead. Obviously this is the one that took off as popular

8ch- iirc took off because they allowed discussion of gamergate when 4chan banned it (atleast for a time). Because of this, became a little bit more of a hub for that particular type of irony poisoned reactionary right wing thinking

there are other kinds too like 420chan or whatever (which is more based around drugs and has a popular wrestling board) that are all just clones of the same infrastructure. But none of them are owned by the same person

It's all good. I should have quoted the posts I was actually responding to so my comment would have been more clearly in context.

The attention he generated and the alt-right's thirst for "lulz" means they will try and exploit every possibility if it means getting a footing on the mainstream consciousness. The white nationalist parasite will latch on where it can. I do think he became more attractive to them, certainly.

2chan is a Japanese board. 8chan is where people that get kicked off 4chan go. It's known for stuff like child porn and now for planning terrorist attacks.
2ch is the original japanese image board 4chan is based on, 8chan consists of 4chan rejects that congregated because 4chan banned child pornography

The issue with 4chan is that the toxicity has invaded all the other boards to the point where v and mu are ruined by constant bigotry. I used to post on them and would be proud to see them nuked. They're more harm than good at this point and while I won't say every 4chan poster is suspect bc of terrorism, it is suspect how people can continue to post there despite the absolute shithole it's become in the past decade thanks to /pol/

Is anyone else really depressed by the non reaction on their Facebook?

All the usual people who put a flag as their profile picture and write, 'thoughts and prayers' or 'I stand with ...', when there's a terror attack - which normally makes cynical me all, 'Jesus, give it a rest'... - they're all carrying on as if nothing has happened.

There's nothing, no one on my Facebook has even mentioned it.

It's really obvious that this hasn't been reacted to in the same way as any other attack and (even though as far as I can see in the UK at least, the media is treating it exactly the same) it's really pissing me off, it's very depressing. It's it just me who has arsehole friends or has anyone else noticed this?

2chan is a Japanese gaming forum. I don't know much of its politics and social sensibilities, so I won't comment on it.

4chan is a shithole that condones nazis (/pol/), but draws the line at child pornography. It's a terrible place, on par with other terrible nazi havens like Gab.

8chan is a place that exists solely because some people thought 4chan wasn't shitty enough. The site condones even more nazis and also child pornography. Even Google delisted it for such reasons. There's no worse publicly known forum / image board on the web. It's wall-to-wall white supremecists, red pillers, and child sex advocates.

Republican congressmen are on board with the "I get what the guy was going for, but..." messaging

Watch that. "Resolve controversies". The "controversy" of "being a Muslim and praying at a mosque". He and others like him think there is something inherently wrong with being Middle Eastern or being Muslim, that if you are either or both, you have to continuously defend your existence against the "correct default" of being white and Christian. Even when you get shot by an evil terrorist, it's at least partly your fault, somehow.

Also, any sign of someone condoning child abuse or child pornography should be reported as well. Only saying this because it's so prevalent on chans and chan culture.

As a white man, I don't know.

Maybe it's that we are not taught how to handle emotions properly.

Maybe it's that it's that racism is in the very core of our society (I'm American, so I know it's in mine.)

Maybe it's that we are taught only to be the best and that anything but that is a worthless life at best.

Maybe it's that in the west, money is how we define the best?

Maybe how we deal with our own sense of worthlessness

Maybe it's somethine different.

I am not smart enough to answer your question or fix the problem, but what I do know is that I am sorry.

I am sorry for every ounce of pain we have caused you. I am sorry for every ounce of pain we will cause you. I am sorry that all the actions I have taken so far have not been enough.

I'm sorry, did I really have to specify that I was talking about the angry white man who just killed 49 innocent men, women and children and injured hundreds?

Or the fat fuck who spat on 12-year old me and called me a sand nigger?

Or the white teenagers who shattered my knees and threatened to do the worse to my sister if I snitched?

I'm not attacking all white men. For fucks sake.

Can anyone name a hostile and violent ideology that has ever been defeated with peace? 100% honest question.

Oct 27, 2017

Ah, yes, of course we must condemn the violence on both sides folks lots of bad people on both sides believe me folks don't forget about the radical violent left folks believe me

Lol, well in that case, my thoughts and prayers are also with the members of the ethnic group "rich person." May they find shelter from the violence that has been historically levelled against them for reasons beyond their control.

There is the now infamous video taken from inside an Afghani mosque being raided by Taliban suicide attackers, and there are a lot of parallels, sadly.

A heinous act, to be sure.

It is honestly fucking disgusting the direction the world is heading in. White men are committing more acts of terrorism than ever, all because of some racist, delusional beliefs that they are somehow superior. We need to do something. We need to put our foot down and actually quit tolerating people who espouse bigoted viewpoints. White supremacy, xenophobia and racism are what caused this attack. When will we fight back? This shit makes me sick. How can people be so awful, to shoot up a Mosque full of innocent human beings practicing their religion...
