Still staying strong
Team 2021 is holding strong. Did PS5 fall or rise from last week though?
crazy....
Yeah as far as leaks, just the Switch and PS5 totals are all we need as they're pretty much the only relevant ones these days. :P
Tbone right now be like
Funny thing about PS5 stock in my country.
Samsung, LG, or even Sony itself PR hard about theirs TV are perfect for PS5, around ten thousand in stock ready to pair.
But we got PS5 like just 1500-2500 first ship, no better in second ship(who know when), no hope for first half of 2021 too. (Or whole year if everything go bad)
And no no, not customers getting hardware, it's scalpers.

This pretty much shows how crazy are Switch numbers in Japan right now.250k —— 312k — +62k
120k —— 168k — +48k
85k —— 111k — +26k
numbers from t bone's prediction

So the 3DS' lead has shrunk to ~60k now?
I guess Switch overtaking is happening imminently then.

110k was what we were expecting for Famitsu's week 3. Let's say it had an unexpected extra week of 170k.
Switch needs >102k next week to overtake it.
Not a fan of action RPG's?It'd be the best place for an FF VI Remake that's for damn sure.
But then they actually make it another shitty action RPG and all my dreams are crushed.

111k is a very impressive performance for sure. Hoping the stock issues for next week won't be awful, considering what Chris said. But the special Mario edition would probably make up for the stock deficiencies (that is, they would have shipped more in other weeks if they hadn't saved up for the special edition). I think it will be fine.
It is in Europe, so I guess in Japan as well?Is the Mario bundle gonna hit the market the same week of Bowser's Fury?
I think making FF6 an action RPG is covered in the Geneva Convention.
Monster Hunter Rise is Rising up those sales so far lol. Let's hope numbers continue strong for the next couple of weeks
In the end its the summary of many factors.
I said that in the week 53 2020 thread, post #83, about when the Switch surpasses the 3ds launch aligned.

Looks like I was right after all.
For what we saw on the interviews, they are shifting Japan Studio to be AAA studio as well.
The Japan Studio already produced a handful of AAA games.Big budget games without artistic japanese directors sounds exactly dropping the ball for the Japanese market, I'd say
I could name a dozen or two Japanese AAA releases, unless you're that type of guy who thinks Nintendo never published a single AAA title until Breath of the Wild, and has not published one since (with the possible exception of Smash Ultimate).I was trying to come up with AAA games from Japan but they're so few and far between that in the end AAA games from Japan really don't matter.

Probably, maybe, unlikelyI know, let me dream of MHR 3mil opening dammit 😆
I consider AAA games of games with a budget around 100 million or something in that ballpark. The term AAA is not really clearly defined and anyone can have their own definition of it but if you compare a Japanese game to something like Cyberpunk or even the Witcher 3 or GTA, COD or Skyrim or whatever, you can clearly see that there are almost none in the market. I mean FF comes close these days, and MGSV is obviously a big production too and yeah Zelda and Smash Ultimate too. Hell even AC has incredible production values but there just aren't that many and certainly not a dozen or two.The Japan Studio already produced a handful of AAA games.
