Honestly I think late 2023 or early 2024 might be when the next console hits. It would match Nintendo's desire for a long lived console this time around as well

Crayon Shin-chan was always gonna be a Summer evergreen given the type of game it is and the audience it is chasing.

Yu-gi-oh should have been released before Obon too --- but it won't have problems in selling well anyway.

As expected, Neo The World Ends with You dropped like a rock.

Finally Crayon Shin Chan new stock arrived this week.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 had new stock in Yodobashi Camera, but it seems Tsutaya wasn't that lucky, and in Amazon.jp is still sold out.

The Tsutaya rankings remind me of some of the late 80s rankings, where the best selling games where often only NES games

Extremely unlikely. I mean, what would they release? They've made it clear they are not interested in entering the spec race against the big boys so a home console only is unlikely (who would give a damn about an underpowered device?), and a handheld just isn't viable in today's market (not to mention the Switch makes such devices perfectly obsolete).

Only kind of console I could see from them would be something extremely unconventional (think Wii on steroids), but even then, they'd be diverting dev ressources away from Switch family and not sure that's something they'd want.

No clue why people keep expecting hardware releases that are contradictory with the very consistent messaging about the lifecycle of the Switch since years.

Hardware will see big decline this year, maybe 400-500k down, but software will be flat or up. OLED model will help hardware at Q3 and Q4 to remain closer to 2020 so even if they also see drops they won't be so big.

The Switch version of TGAA already had a 60-80% sell-through last week, the drop at Tsutaya (at least) seems healthy enough.
Now, if Tsutaya is representative enough, Neo The World Ends with You on the other hand...yeah, I fear retailers will have to cut its price in the next future: its first week sell-through was 40-60%, such a drop wouldn't help at all.

Ace Attorney won't have problem to clear initial shipment, Neo will likely have but number of printed copies is so low that it's not a big deal for retailers.

A game selling the initial shipment means nothing if it happens with 80 and 90% discounts. For determining if a game bombed or not it's necessary to also know what was the price it was sold at retailers.

Avengers had 10k unsold copies at the end of last year but half of its sales happened at 1000-2000yen.

Don't assume today's component costs will be next year's component costs. That said Nintendo's not against adjusting formfactor or pricepoint for line revisions either. Lite OLED could indeed be a bigger departure than the standard OLED model is.
