Nintendo bumped up Switch production again. We went from 22 million to 25 million and now it's 30 million.
New Hyrule Warriors isn't going below half million in Japan, production values are high and interest after the reveal is very big.
I think the BOTW style being consistent with this game rather than it being Koei's own take on it helps garner massive interest. Is that so? Guess I stand corrected. Curious to see how this one is going to fare.
True but the overall performance should be easier to track day one. No need to wait for Nintendo's FY report in January/February.Hmm... a shame the game is published by KT in Japan, that means no vouchers for it. It costs +7k Yen, would have helped a fair bit.
I don't know about that, a bunch of Switch titles you can't buy with vouchers have had big digital sales in 2020. Around half of Crystal Chronicles' sales on Switch come from the eShop, more than half for Clubhouse Games and PawaPuro went high too.True but the overall performance should be easier to track day one. No need to wait for Nintendo's FY report in January/February.
We'll get Western shipments updates. It's still published by Nintendo in the West, right? So it should pop up in the financial release, right?
Cheaper and MP focused games are usually getting a bigger digital share yes but Zelda doesn't fit either categories.I don't know about that, a bunch of Switch titles you can't buy with vouchers have had big digital sales in 2020. I will make a crazy prediction and say that 1 million isn't out of reach. The story and setting of this game is going to be a major factor in sales.New Hyrule Warriors isn't going below half million in Japan, production values are high and interest after the reveal is very big.

I don't think Age of Calamity is the original title intended to be the November release, it is not of the 10m+ magnitude that Nintendo wants from a November game but Corona happened and it seems there is a Switch upgrade in the way too which they will support with very big software without a doubt, but AoC will benefit greatly from the release slot + linking it with BotW story. it is going to be a big success story for Koei Tecmo.
I think it's likely it would fall in the holiday lineup - do I think it would be the key release? Probably not..
I'm thinking something like this could have been the intended lineup Oct-Dec:
SMK Live
SM3DW+BF
Age of Calamity
'Delayed bigghish title'
4) Sony moneyhatted them to stop giving Nintendo numbers!!!!Three possible outcomes
1) early reports are now on JPT Thursday morning and not Wednesday morning
2) Switch sold less than 5k last week
3) they don't care to report about Switch crossing the 15 millions mark
:P

Always interested hearing about this, I saw that the first shipment in France would be 200k, same for Hyrule Warriors.Initial shipment for Super Mario 3D All-Stars could exceed half million.
___
Media Create CY 2019 will be up at Friday.
Domestically?I feel Nintendo could ship 1m of 3D All-Stars and it'd instantly sell out.

Japan. I feel with Switch's popularity, not much from Nintendo this holiday (HW isn't a tentpole game like BOTW itself, though still big), Odyssey being big, AND the limited factor just all add to it being ripe for huge success. IMO of course.
So unpopular that Odyssey is closing in on 2.5 million
Well Odyssey is the best selling 3D Mario title by a good bit. Still I agree calling them unpopular is a stretch.
That's because the trailer barely showed any Musou gameplay and mostly showed cutscenes.TBH i kinda hate the musou games but watching that trailer got me hyped and considering buying the game. I think this is going to perform really well.
3D Mario is popular on the right console3D Mario isn't popular compared to 2D Mario, but it's more popular than 99.5% of games released each year.
3D Mario is popular on the right console
Mario 64 : 1.65 million
Mario 64 DS : 1.2 million
Mario 3D Land : 2.1 million
Mario Odyssey : 2.5 million (and rising)
They sell comparably now.I didn't say it was unpopular, I said it's not popular in comparison to 2D Mario, as in it is liked and played by fewer people relative to 2D Mario games. 3D Mario games are very well liked games in Japan.
