Nothing to do with luck, Okami Revelations and Dragon's Dogma all had at least some effort put into them, while all their latest ports didn't, it's as simple as that.
Doesn't help Capcom is actively trolling the switch user base and I don't say that lightly.

The release of standalone DMC 2 is absurd.

And people doubted that all that fanart and attention the characters were getting wouldn't pay off. All it took was tweeking the designs.

The 2B effect. Of course the game has been looking pretty good in general but no doubt that Reisalin's design helped quite a bit with getting eyes on the game

It's time for Capcom to port Viewtiful Joe collections and Zack & Wiki to Switch even if it's eShop only.

I really hope they do if it happens just for the online reactions.
We tried, we really tried, and initially results were promising, but then our later efforts just failed one after the other. Clearly our audience is not on the Switch.

"sadly we can clearly see that Nintendo switch can't carry the numbers we try to reach, we are thus evaluating the future support we'll give to this platform, which btw we like very much"

"We would like to announce Resident Evil 7 Legacy Edition, which is Resident Evil 6 but with characters' faces swapped out for different ones."

"We heard the pleas of Switch fans wanting the new Resident Evil games on Switch, that's why starting now you can pre-order Umbrella Corps Switch Edition for just $59.99/¥8800 "

At this point i'm almost a little bit proud for not owning a single capcom game on Switch and PS4. They won't see a penny from me this gen and probably next gen (not that that will hurt them, they are doing well on PS4 but i'm not going to contribute to that). Also Nintendo should stop giving them time in directs.

I have Okami and I dont regret it. It is a very well done port and probably the definitive edition of the game.

The fact that they treated it wayyyyyy better than RE4 is head scratching really.

I hope Nomura decides to port KH3 to Switch just so we can have more Rob2K19 posts.

Then a PS5 remaster.

Just wondering, why is that? I can understand that ports of older games arent that desireable since many people have already played those games, but they also have new games out to which are quite good. No problem if theres little interest in those games from the get go of course, but since you say you're almost a bit proud for not buying the games, it sound like to me that you have at least some interest in those games, or?

Will we ever see an exclusive Final Fantasy for Switch? I wonder how such an FF would do.
There will be less and less permanent exclusives as engines become more and more platform independent, and different devices get more similar interfaces.
The only reason for a game to be exclusive is because the platformholder has a big bag of money ready, and in those cases, it will be a timed exclusivity deal.
Hardware differences - both in terms of power and interfaces - used to be the main reason to develop a game exclusively for one system. Those days are over.

I sure hope we do, but I doubt it. :(

Honestly a Switch-exclusive Chocobo's Dungeon 2 by h.a.n.d again would be amazing. The remaster was passed on to Rocket Studio for whatever reason (they did the arcade Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road games FYI).

Or maybe an actual new Crystal Chronicles. I still don't get how SE were allowed to port the original CC to PS4. I thought Nintendo funded and had that game as a permanent exclusive. I mean Game Designers Studio was formed via Yamauchi's Q-Fund, the same money that created Genius Sonority and ND Cube.

It's funny, but Takaki was the one developer supposedly on board back in January 2017.

I guess he was, for the most part, only in to make a couple of HD rumble jokes with his weirdo spin-off.
Which actually turned out a success, that game charted on the U.S eshop back when they only did top tens for like 2 weeks! 2 weeks!!! I use to check it everyday at the time

1 year ago, I, like others, expressed doubts about KT and how they could recover from the decline of several of their franchises.

1 year later and 2019 has been a resounding success for them between FE3H, MUA3, Atelier and several notable games coming.

Congrats ! It was not a given.
KT has always developed games for nintendo since atleast the Wii but this year you would have been mistaken to think they were a "second party" for Nintendo in the same vein as next level games

You're missing out on some good titles for no real reason then. Could their Switch support be better? Absolutely.
But I wouldn't exactly say playing the skipping the likes of RE7, RE2, and DMC5 is worth it.

when's yokai 4 come out for ps4?

Frankly, I don't know why they're bothering. YW4 on Switch has been constantly selling, even if it's not the highs the series used to. Is there much of an audience at all for it on PS4 anywhere in the world? I don't see it. In fact its announcement isn't causing any decrease in sales for the Switch version.

And this also means they'll lose whatever support Nintendo would've provided in the west for it, that's a big blow. Nintendo had been the exclusive localization company of the series since the first game. Unless L5 will be fine with the PS4 version staying Japan-only, Nintendo's not pitching in. Dragon Quest Builders 2 was an extreme rarity and that was likely due to some special case with SE and DQ since Nintendo for the last decade has exclusively published the DQ series on Nintendo hardware, sans the DQ trilogy on the eShop for some reason.

Just my thoughts, but yeah, this was not a wise idea at all.

To those living in Japan, how is the hype around Ring Fit? I saw the commercial now has close to 6 million views on youtube. I have a feeling the game will be a huge hit in Japan.
