I forgot about ghosts of tsushima, sorry. I doubt there will be a ghost sequel until 2024-2025 though

Yes I agree to you. There is no way that Switchs sales of 2020 can be topped next year. Switch will end up at something between 6.0 and 6.5 Mio. units ytd at the end of 2020 and this will definetly NOT be topped in 2020. But I think maybe its sales will come close to this. By launching some big flagship titles like MH Rise, BotW2, Mario 3D World Deluxe, new Pokemon Games and maybe new casualstuff + new revision + bundles or price cuts, Switch should also have some great sales in 2021.

It will get close, but it also has the potential to beat 2020 with the right stuff coming out. I can think only of a few games that will have that kind of power:
Monster Hunter
A new Dragon Quest (or a remake)
A new Final Fantasy (very unlikely)
A new Pokémon
Mario Kart (perhaps?)
Mario
Splatoon (unlikely)

Not a game, but a revision will help a lot combined with any of the above games as a launch game.

Monster Hunter Rise is releasing soon, but I don't think that alone will give it the momentum throughout the entire year, the Switch needs a killer year (meaning multiple of the above) if it wants to beat 2020 sales numbers.

Unless NSW does 6.5mil++ then I still am a believer of NSW being flat or slightly up YoY. ;)

yeah, it's such a niche and delightful product it's heart-wrenching seeing it release in such a crowded season, it had it better than a new Pokémon release next to it, so it's great to see positive sings for the japanese launch. I wonder if the AC/Stardew Valley crowd will dip their feet into it in the west, might be a cozy Holiday titles for those folks, that's assuming they're aware it exists.

We expect BotW2, something Metroid related, Pokémon and that's probably it. Nothing is confirmed/announced for 2021 besides Mario 3D World and that's it I think for first party.

Of course. While overall corona situation has been pretty well under control in Japan I think it's obvious that it still affects how people spent their time to minimize the risk of infection (that is partly why it's so well under control in Japan). There is also less options to spent money on as even Japan has seen cancelations and size restrictions when it comes to big events. Also one thing where the state of pandemic in your country doesn't really matter is travelling abroad that has practically stopped.

Sadly I doubt vaccinations will be as soon and as expedient as people are hoping. Also in Japan Switch was showing signs of increasing/peaking well before any lockdowns were issued, I wouldn't really expect that to die down all that much next year, especially with Monster Hunter launching.
