To be fair, I don't think Fire Emblem did especially well even with digital sales factored in. The series saw growth everywhere besides Japan. I'm not sure if people were burned by Fates or if something about Three Houses was less appealing or if it was just the lack of multiple skus.
It's because Fire Emblem was already at near max capacity on 3DS, just like Luigi's Mansion. The 3DS was more popular than the Switch, a game selling less doesn't mean there's something wrong with it.

Fire Emblem Three Houses shipments after two months almost matched those of Awakening's after only 2 months. It is on par with what is happening WW.

His claim isn't even true. Three Houses was at 480k units shipped in September, I don't understand why it wouldn't outsell Awakening and even Fates.

To illustrate: Awakening sales were at sound 506k by the end of 2016 according to Media Create. Add a sliver of digital and you'd get shipments most likely below 550k.

Shipment for Three Houses will be around 550k at the end of December.
Do you think it skewed even more digital as time passed by ?

I mean it is possible because of how vouchers work (in pairs). The fact that probably 500k+ people bought Pokemon for example with vouchers, makes you wonder what other games are likely to benefit from the other voucher in these pairs.

It's important to remember Nintendo's still a relatively small company unlike Sony or MS. When they move into a new market they can't simply piggyback established company logistics or contacts like PS and Xbox have, they have to start from scratch or work with someone else to get their products out there. They actually have a bigger opportunity with mobile in these markets tbh.
Pretty much yeah. Regarding to South East Asia, they still have Maxsoft distribute their products in the territory. But last year Maxsoft announced they will began releasing the Switch officially in Thailand as well. (This doesn't prevent stores to get the console from elsewhere however) It's a small step, but it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

It'll easly become the biggest Fire Emblem lifetime since Mystery of the Emblem, that's good though eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, feel like it could have done more...

I mean it's not Three houses fault, it's mine for always hoping in some kind of explosion every times. (not saying i expected better numbers, but yeah deep in my heart i really hoped for some crazy shit happening)

Looking at the eShop top 20 from the end of September 2019 (since thats when the latest official numbers were reported i guess?) til until more recent date, Fire Emblem Switch charted two times. First from September 26th to October 2nd (#18), and the second time from November 21st to 27th (#20). This doesnt say anything about actual numbers of course, but its what we have as an indication.

The overlap between NSW and PS4 audience is much smaller in Japan than in the west. We've seen games that are traditionally on PlayStation do better on Switch every year, but it still remains to be seen how much of the Persona audience on 3DS/PSV/PS4 has migrated to NSW.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions will benefit more from the existence of Persona 5 Scramble on Switch than the other way around. Big titles set the audience. TMS#FE is very niche, so it only reaps the fruits of the work done by the big games.

RPGs were underrepresented on the Wii U, while the Switch is a RPG valhalla. Other Atlus properties are also coming, so that's a great sign. TMS#FE has a much better chance now.

Whatever help #FE's tiny fanbase could offer would be statistically insignificant lol

Famitsu had Sun and Moon at 120k Week 1 2017 so assuming there are no big differences between trackers Sword and Shield is still up WoW.

Sword/Shield up around 50% (even with no digital included) from the S/M figure.

It is clearly overperforming and that's before considering the big Expansion Pass. Will be huge.

Lite is doing the heavy lifting for Switch these holidays from the moment December releases literally didn't exist but the negative is it pulls hardware revenue down.

By the way, Yokai Watch 4 ++ is chugging along very nicely on Switch. Another big week for it with some great legs.

YW4 should end up in the 400k+ range after all.

Huge numbers for Switch. I guess PS4 sold what they had in stock (because week 1 being down from week 52 doesn't make otherwise sense especially for PS system). Shame that next week we are going back to the normal numbers.

Switch = 247k
PS4 = 153k

Dengeki HW week 1 2020:

Did the PS4 discount end after week 1, or is it still ongoing?

Gorgeous !

We have early confirmation that both the Lite and Zelda will have at least 1 unit sold in Week 2 :p

lol

Im kinda mad tho, I wanted to get the PS4 for only 19.000 yen +tax, but was sold out everywhere since before christmas..., the promo ended last week and now they have stock again but for 29.000 yen + tax. Im curious about PS4 numbers bc for me was impossible to get one.

Ring Fit (as always) and also PS4 lost this week because stock.

I still can not believe that PS4 was sold out such amount of time tbh. Now that the offer ended...amazon has stock again for more than 30.000 yen https://www.amazon.co.jp/PlayStatio...カタカナ&keywords=ps4+500gb&qid=1578833581&sr=8-3

kinda suspicious, and same happend with yodobashi, biccamera...
