It does in the article.
Never knew Coppola was such a big fan and supporter of a pedo so that's fucking disappointing.
Ignorance is really bliss with Hollywood.
More likely the trailer will seem subdued in comparison. This trailer feels like it's trying to amp up a much more subdued film.
I'm expecting a three hour sit down chat about owning steel mills or something. Looks great, though.
Jesus fucking Christ. Not only he paid for this fucker's lawyers, he even threatened to sue the child's family for "breach of contract", essentially making them drop half of the charges. No wonder nobody wants to touch this movie. Here's some more separation for you to work on:
Salva sexually assaulted a 12-year-old actor, and the ensuing investigation also uncovered sexually explicit child abuse materials in Salva's home.
Coppola stated, "You have to remember, while this was a tragedy, that the difference in age between Victor and the boy was very small—Victor was practically a child himself." Salva was 29, 17 years older than Winters (12).
it was self-funded because no studio thought they would make their money back and they're probably correct on that no matter how good the film may be. Hollywood has no problem defending nonces, see the standing ovation for Polanski at the oscars. What the actual fuck? Yeah no fuck this. Hollywood has a Child Sexual Abuse problem and it sounds like Coppola is a part of enabling it. No wonder it had to be self funded.
Yeah as someone else mentioned it's in the prior paragraph:
In a karmic way, Francis Ford Coppola's curse should at least in part be attributed to his connection to real-life monster Victor Salva. Impressed by the fledgling director's short film Something in the Basement, Coppola produced the feature adaptation Clownhouse. While making the movie, Salva sexually assaulted a 12-year-old actor, and the ensuing investigation also uncovered sexually explicit child abuse materials in Salva's home. Salva confessed and was convicted to three years in prison, of which he served 15 months before returning to a Hollywood that embraced him. Following his release, Coppola gave Salva $5000 to get back on his feet.
Salva was arrested before Clownhouse wrapped production, and his victim Nathan Forrest Winters claims that Coppola told him during this time that he would be blacklisted in Hollywood. The producer also threatened to sue Winters for breach of contract if he didn't finish his work on the film. When asked to comment about Salva during the height of the initial controversy, Coppola told the LA Times simply, "Victor is a talented young director." In a later interview with the Times, Coppola stated, "You have to remember, while this was a tragedy, that the difference in age between Victor and the boy was very small—Victor was practically a child himself." Salva was 29, 17 years older than Winters. In 2001, Coppola executive produced the first of Salva's Jeepers Creepers series, and he returned to the same role for the sequel in 2003. Combined, the films made over $120 million, proving that, in Hollywood, it isn't what you do but who you know.
Maybe I'm too naive, but in this day and age everyone knows something like this won't be swept under the rug. I hope so.it was self-funded because no studio thought they would make their money back and they're probably correct on that no matter how good the film may be. Hollywood has no problem defending nonces, see the standing ovation for Polanski at the oscars.
expecting an eighty minute standing ovation followed by a 30% rotten tomatoes score with a 15% audience score

Silva made 9 movies since his release, and Coppola 7. Hollywood doesn't care, this is just about money.
Since he spent $120,000,000 of his own money does this count as an indie film?

:edit:
Nm the problem is systemic and its only self funded for financial reasons ugh....
Silva at least may have had his career ended when MeToo happened since his last movie was in 2017. They've even rebooted Jeepers Creepers without him being involved at all. His last movie, Jeepers Creepers 3, even had a plotline about child molestation in which one of the characters says, "Can you blame him though?" when referring to the victim. And that's a movie that he not only directed, but also wrote.
Yep. The next Wachowski picture is here. Also some Valerian vibes. Day -1 'cuz NYC; let's go!!
Was gonna say. Frank, I pray for you. It looks unique-ish, I'll give it that.
