Look at the actual Sega tweet. Sega announced this hours BEFORE Sony announced theirs.Wow, rude. I think it's interesting that they make the announcement after Sony announces their own offering.
We're all winners here by not being subjected to AtGames stuff.
Think that has more to do with legal issues than emulation.Well now. Does this mean they might actually add Sonic 3 & Knuckles?

That's awesome. I wish I had the skill to make this myself.I've wanted a good Mega Drive Classic for so long, that I've finally said fuck it, and made one myself.
Got one of those Mega Drive USB hubs:
Put in a Raspberry Pi running Retroarch:
Just ordered a couple 6 button original mod kits from 8Bitdo, which will convert them to Bluetooth controllers:
It's gonna be dope. Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, some Sega arcade classics. I'm amped.
How much of a problem would it be to include Sonic 3 & Knuckles? You can just straight up buy it on Steam. Recent legal shenanigans?

Nope. That was never an emulation-related issue.Well now. Does this mean they might actually add Sonic 3 & Knuckles?
Of course. We should also thank Sony for the NES and SNES classic because Nintendo only made them thanks to their prediction that Sony would make the ps1 mini. And also Nintendo copied the ps1 controller when making the SNES one.

Probably helps that this is a Sega Japan initiative.Holy shit, seems like they actually listened to the complaining about AtGames.
Anything but the IR they have been.
Didn't Sega announce a new Genesis Mini some months ago and it was going to be made by AtGames? Is this for ANOTHER Genesis or what exactly?
Yeah, Retro-Bit is releasing some officially-licensed controllers soon: http://retro-bit.com/blog/post/retrobit-unveils-first-wave-of-officially-licensed-sega-products/Isn't there a company that just licensed out the controllers for reproduction, and with usb connections? Seems like a no brainer to bundle at least one of those in.
Get ur head out of ur ass. Fans voiced their opinions about Atgames the day this thing was announced. Has nothing to do with sony.
The original plan was to use ATGames, but it appears that Sega of Japan has moved on from them. Given the amount of flack they've gotten over the years (ranging from poor emulation, to poor sound quality), I wouldn't be surprised if Sega of Japan was not happy with the hardware they provided.
