The version of Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead from OKNOTOK is more of a bummer than the regular one. I like it.

Nice walk through depression, panic, anxiety, wistfulness, back into anxiety, depression and ultimately resignation.

20 minutes of some of the best music ever written. The silence after the performance says it all really.

Anything from Joy Division really. The greatest song ever made, Love Will Tear Us Apart, already got posted, but I'm a big fan of this one. Dark, brooding, but with just the occasional moments of light.

i wanted to recommend Shellac - Prayer To God but it might be a bit too brutal these days.. here's some Labradford instead:

To counter some of the modern bands, here's something ... else...

Henryk Gorecki - Symphony No. 3 - Movement 1
Yes, it's very long. Put it on in the background, it'll sucker-punch you eventually..
It's from his Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, which are compositions about mothers in agony over losing their children. Fun stuff. Enjoy!

Check out this performance

I love all sorts of melancholic and depressing music so I'll definitely listen to everything posted so far

In the meantime, my favorites are almost all Finnish so I can't really post those, but here are two songs I'm a huge fan of

Caring Is Creepy might just be melancholic to me since it's attached to a lot of memories, some of them pretty bad

Official EBTG thread? I've always loved their approach of"you can dance and still be sad as fuck and it's ok".
Missing is also great, and I could listen to the entire Temperamental album all winter.

On the other side of the spectrum,
