Seems early to judge the art style of the game when we only have two screenshots and haven't even seen the character from the front.
Someone posted on /v/.
That and the fact it will be announced on the xbox e3 conference, if they didnt think it would appeal to the west they would save this for Tokyo Game Show or a something like that. The main character screams it. The style in general with a more realistic setting as well.
I loved Berseria. It looked like hot garbage.
And a majority of the cutscenes looked like:
That's a 2017 game. Again, It was in my top 10 for 2017, but it certainly didn't have any kind of budget. There are JRPGs on the early 360 that look better. Upressed FF X and XII look better.
This is one of the very few times one can say "It looks like a PS2 game" AND BE RIGHT.
well that certainly looks better than every other Tales game ever
Everyone saying these basic screenshots look generic realizes the majority of Tales games look generic anime too, right?
That art is still generic and the game is obviously still going to be super anime. Finally dropped the generic animu bullshit?
Seriously that looks beautiful.
Yeah this is probably coming to switch too. Guessing it'll be part of the directMakes no sense considering the next game was announced for Switch? I'm confused

I'm really hoping they aren't using those sort of mental gymnastics.Technically Vesperia was a "New Mainline Game" for most of the Western audience of the series by way of getting released on PS4/PC/Switch instead of staying Xbox Exclusive.

I agree, this looks way better than the homogenized look that the series has had since Xillia. Are people seriously implying the game looking more realistic and better looking is a negative thing?
Tales (atleast the ones I played or saw) have always looked so damn bad. The artstyle was always lacking and it looked budget as hell.
The biggest draw for me were the story and the characters so if those are there then this will be great. As I said earlier, characters as good as the cast of Berseria, better level design and world are my wishes and would fix everything I hated with the other games.
You're right. I am here for that!I'm digging it. The main character actually looks like he's wearing gear meant for fighting monsters. Not some weird skin tight costume or shredded tights like previous protagonists.
I mean it's all e3 season. It's not a coincidence they held those conferences a couple days prior to the actual show.I wouldn't include the Destiny 2, Stadia, and Pokemon Direct stuff in E3 at all. None of this happened at E3.
It kinda also reminds me of Tales of Eternia's premise.Rena? Two protagonists from two worlds? Action RPG?
Is this Star Ocean 2 Remake?
everyone who says Tales look generic, what about call of duty or battlefield?Everyone saying these basic screenshots look generic realizes the majority of Tales games look generic anime too, right?
looks like he has some kind of dragon armor.
They've been doing the animation since Xillia.
