I'm waiting for some news on the quality of the port. If it's good, this is my most anticipated game right now.

I would've double dipped but the repetitiveness and blandness got to me I dread to play this anymore lol

Hopefully they fix this in the sequel

It seems that they're not taking the porting effort lightly.

Not only that, as looking at Steamdb shows that they're, at least, CONSTANTLY updating the game even now, days before release. I'm getting juuuust a little excited, as this is KT, but let's wait and see.

It's nowhere close to Souls level design sadly. Really bland. I say this as someone who still enjoyed 80% of the game.

Yeah that's a shame. But frankly, the whole Souls mixed with Diablo and praised combat system are all I'm really here for. And the setting, of course which is always cool.

I feel like this game is gonna scratch an itch I had for some time something fierce.

Hoping for a physical PS4 release as well but haven't been able to find any info. Erring towards getting the Asian version if it has English menu/subtitle options(?)

Oh man, do I double dip? I already have the game and the season pass, but the idea of playing it at 1440p with 100+fps with the visuals cranked is pretty awesome. I loved this game and would totally play through it again.

Yeah, it's best to wait and see for a KT port whatever good it looks like pre-release.

The game ran at 720p, even lower on base PS4 to maintain 60fps.

I started with 60fps mode, but after a while I couldn't stand it and settled with 1080p 30fps.

Hopefully, I can play at 1440p 60fps with the PC version if the port is good. It'll be a wholly difference experience for me.

Like the last couple Team Ninja games, the combat is good, but the level/art/enemy design is incredibly mediocre and repetitive. And it goes on for like 40+ hours...

Can people confirm if it really is a 100GB download? Cause screw that if that's true... 30 GB at most.

People, remember it's a demanding game even on PS4 Pro.
Base PS4 for 60fps is 720p with drops under 720p.
PS4 Pro is 1080p with drops to 900p, as low as 720p in rare instances.

Don't know, this game is not a looker, especially compared to Dark Souls 3 (which i can run in 60 fps easily)
Not to excuse the port team but give the game an update or two. I usually find that PC ports only get better over time unless the porting team truly doesn't give two flips. Im running an i7 4770k and GTX 770 so I really don't have much hope.
Maybe "Rendering resolution: High" option is supersampling or such thing, so that's why framerate dips occurs, we can only hope =))

Except a 1080 is more than a little more powerful than the PS4 Pro's GPU.

I'll see how Nioh runs on my 1070, but there's no reason it can't completely dominate a game at 1080p that PS4 Pro can handle at 900p.

Right but a 1080 is running at close to lock 1440p and 60fps. 1080p to 1440p is 77% more pixels to push. 900p to 1440p is 2.5 times more pixels to push.

What sucks is I bought this for PS4 on sale back in like june or july. I have yet to play it and now they announce it for a system I would rather play it on.

No, it's 30 or 60. There's no option to remove it, at least not in the launcher/config.

I gotta bounce for a bit, it's my 16th anniversary. Leave any questions and I'll get to them when I get back.

Thanks for the vid and congrats on the anniversary!

I should probably pick this back up on PS4. Would double dip on this for sure if I hadn't already dumped 30 hours into the PS4 version.

According to DF it's 1080p solid 60fps for PS4 Pro majority of the time, rarely does it goto 900p for abit and even rarer which was for a bit in one scene the 720p then back to 1080p most of the game on Action mode

On Movie mode it targets dynamic 4k 30fps ranging from 1440p and above

It actually has 5 resolutions modes in action mode on PS4 Pro. In any case it's pretty much telling on how demanding this game is.

I think that GhostTrick's point is that these performance problems aren't there because KT made a shit PC port. Just that performance hits are the same on consoles. Which honestly, makes it a tad better. The worst ports are ones where the console version run fine but PC has a myriad of performance problems(Arkham Knight for example).

Then again it's running at 60fps on console so it's not as demanding especially with the Jaguar CPUs, otherwise they would have stuck with 30fps

As the video shows, the game is pushing more on the GPU, not the CPU which doesn't even seems to be stressed. This was never a question. It is demanding considering we're talking about a PS4 Pro game (which was meant for higher than 1080p resolution) not even maintaining 1080p for the 60fps target. and 720p even under on PS4.

Shame the framerate cannot be uncapped. Hopefully modders can work some magic and that game doesn't break in the process.

Played this for over 100 hours on PS4, can't wait to get back to it on PC at 1440p or 4K. Finally time to get to that DLC.

Very very pleased this is coming to PC. I can't wait to beat it all over again. Here's hoping for a solid PC port.
