Ehhhh, I'm good for now. I'm not going to stress out about a card. If I really wanted one, I could get one. I just don't think it's worth my time and efforts.

Good thing I'm not planning on replacing my 1060 3Gb until Q3 2021. Hopefully, it lasts until then, can't afford to buy a new GPU at these prices and scarcity.

I only really NEED a computer, and need as in to play a game the way I want it to, for Cyberpunk. And I can honestly wait long enough for the game to receive a few patches as I can't trust a game that's taken this long to be made to not come out with technical issues that will be addressed in a couple of patches as it goes to the masses.

The rest though? My 1070 Desktop is handling fine. Obviously for some major releases I'm now forced to switch to medium settings but it ain't a big deal.

Gonna have to make a tough decision in mid-January whether or not to return my RTX 3070 FE to Best Buy as a 3080 isn't magically going to fall in my lap. I'm pretty positive the 3070 is going to show it's age extremely quickly playing at anything above a 2560x1440 res. Just a sad situation all-around especially considering I was willing to spend upwards of $1K on a 3080.

I literally got a 3060ti in the first 10 seconds of its availability and then two minutes after I was done, I checked the site and they were sold out.

Couldn't get a 3080 at all.

So I got a 3070 and just waiting for that to arrive. Planning to uograde to 3080ti, whenever that is.

What's stranger is that system integrators seem to have a pretty ok supply of 3080s, at least here in Europe. Meanwhile, consumers can't get their hands on them because of scalpers. Some systems could be put in place to make sure that each person can only buy one, but of course, those systems would imply human and capital investment from retailers.

If it wasn't for a false alarm posting of the nvidia webstore link on resetera's 3080 discord, I would not have gotten one. I probably would have given up and waited for some Super refresh.

Got lucky with Best Buy and managed to get a 3090 FE a month ago. Too bad I haven't been as lucky securing a Ryzen 5900x..

True true. I have to say the only reason it was worth it was because the 2000 series cards and, 1000 series cards, and AMD 5000 series, we were upgrading from, all seem to hold their value extremely well when buyers realized the shortage of 3000 series and had nothing.

Otherwise I never would've participated in this madness for 3080/3070.

If 3060 Ti can hold its own not too bad for cyberpunk 2077 and 3080 FE is still hard to find, I might try to hunt it down for a quick generational transition until Hopper in 2021. By then I hope everyone is vaccinated and taking a break from F5'ing every goddamn electronic releases..

Sounds like it was a good idea to spend my current "Spend On Me" savings on a HM Aeron and other stuff and push the PC upgrade plans forward some months. I'll get mine in July/August 2021 or something.

Realized that the 3080 won't fit into my Alienware r11 case and now I'm bummed :(
Not that I was able to get my hands on a 3080 anyways.

I wanted to get one before Cyberpunk released but that isn't going to happen. My 1080Ti still did great with AC Valhalla tho so I'm probably just gonna wait till the 3080 Ti or next iteration comes out.

I got a 3080 gigabyte, sold it then bought a 3080tuf and then grabbed a 5900x

grabbed a series x and then returned a ps5 and a week later grabbed another ps5

all for RRP

I use all my luck on this shit because I'm unlucky with everything else in life I feel

I promised my little bro my 2080 before I knew it was going to be such a mess. Of course I'l fulfill my promise but I'm now worried I'll either be without a card or have to do something stupid like buy a 3090 as it's the only one I can still occasionally find in stock. What a nightmare. I absolutely refuse to pay scalper prices.

I'm glad I don't have to struggle with this anymore but it was a rough time. Good luck to anyone still on the hunt!

I got a preorder down an hour or so after launch at 2 places and had to cancel at one because it was going to be so long. Received my card 10 weeks into launch. Crazy really.

My guess is AMD is more focused on getting chips for the consoles so I wonder if that will effect supplies of video cards at all

That means I'll probably have to wait until June or July because of Asus's bullshit. I ordered a 3080 TUF Gaming non-OC card but Asus is making like 95% OC ones.

The store I bought it from has delivered over 300 TUF OC cards and 10 TUF non-OC cards during October and November.

i got it at $1000 with intention to flip it in 6-8 months, so it's a wash imo

i've just accepted that i'll always be behind a gen in the GPU game. or until/if supply goes back to "normal" i can't fret over the benchmarks too much

Yeah similar with my 3070, the add to cart button went live 5 minutes early on overclockers, before the mass f5 spam. But for that I wouldn't have any ampere gpu still I bet.

I was able to pre-order a 3080 from Overclockers day one before they started limiting their supplies to the UK only, and having to wait in a queue not knowing when my card would ship was extremely frustrating.

Can't imagine the frustration I would have endured have I not been so lucky. What a shit show!
