They talked about a magnet hero... so a cool alt to a main tank Rein without more barriers would be a hero who has a vortex shield and sucks in bullets and repelts them like a skill shot. Like a big Genji Reflect but better for the team.
They said Hammond was originally going to be a magnet hero

Oh, okay. That would super cool.Yep, but they went with a wrecking ball concept instead... Geoff i think or Jeff said they would like to revisit the magnet hero.
Her rez is so nerfed it takes two protectors to actually use in the heat of battle. The concept of rez existing isnt oppressive.
No.Can hammond tether in on Allies or Enemies? I want to take a ride with Pharah and drop down on the enemies from above.
There was one guy on Reddit who pieced enough in-game clues together to figure out it was a hamster, but most people just thought it was another gorilla like Winston. So I think I saw people here say "Hammond" before this reveal. Did they know it was a hamster?

The name and lore hints were a deliberate fake out to make you think he was a chimp. Ham is the name of the first US Chimp in Space, "Mond" is moon in German.People knew Hammond's name for a long time through the lore... but they thought he was a monkey like chimp because their was one looking at the camera in a pic....some would jokingly say it's a hamster but nobody really believed it. Although the name is really on the nose.

Wow, that's nuts! Thanks for the explanation.People knew Hammond's name for a long time through the lore... but they thought he was a monkey like chimp because their was one looking at the camera in a pic....some would jokingly say it's a hamster but nobody really believed it. No, it's his biggest weakness. Hack him, freeze him, Rocket Punch him, Shield Bash him, Flashbang him, etc.
Its better to be good with a hero than to switch around back and forth. Its important to build up ultimate abilities and learn to use them well. so I would say stick with one here for the beginning, once you main a hero you can always spread out to others later out.So how do you go about getting back into the game? I've never been really good at it but I've played it for hours, mostly around launch.
Should I stick to one hero and practice the basics, get used to the rules, memorize the maps and so on. Or should I try change my hero picks depending on the situation to practice adapting?

Mei, too. You can put up a wall to stop him when he's swinging around and then freeze him.
I just checked the Blizzard forums (namely the PTR Feedback section) & there are already people asking for Hammond to be referred to by his real name in-game. I guess people don't really like the name "Wrecking Ball" as his official name.
