Spain charts for weeks 16 and 17.

Grand Theft Auto V outsold for 3rd consecutive week Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I think it may even outsell Final Fantasy VII Remake for the month of April, and if it does not happen it will be very close, it is crazy.

Unfortunately I am very disappointed and quite surprised at how terribly bad Trials of Mana has performed, barely 1.000 units between Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, that's half what Secret of Mana sold and even less than what Collection of Mana managed to sell last year, it is a shame.

I am now scared to find out what Sakura Wars did despite being localized into Spanish.

Bruno MB by looking at the Spanish data since the lockdowns, it seems like almost every new releases, at least relatively, underperformed (RE3, FF7, Trials and even AC launch was not that big!)

Maybe people in Spain don't like to rely on home delivery and prefered to go digital ?

Drop from RE2-->RE3 and KH3-->FF7R are just too big.

Anecdotal obviously but i have 15 friends/people i know from spain which normally tend to buy games physically (me included) and for Animal Crossing since is nice to have it all the time and boot it up without having to care if the cartridge is in or not we ALL bought it digital. That plus the full quarantine starting a week before the launch and still dar from fully lifted i think has pushed a lot of people to buy it digitally around here so i would say quarantine plus the nature of the game

Dragon Ball Kakarot is the first game to reach 100.000 units sold in Germany since the awards started (2010). It should be noted that SKUs were separated until 2017, so it is possible that the milestone was reached by some pre-2018 Dragon Ball games when SKUs were combined.

In other news, DOOM (2016) reached the milestone in July 2016, which was the third month after release, whereas DOOM Eternal reached it in its second month.

It's a shame that this data is only for physical which was heavily impacted by the pandemic. I was curious about Royal's sales to see the impact of the localization and though the number is pretty decent, it's hard to gauge the game's success. RE3 sold less than a third of RE2 and FF7R half of KH3 but with them having released during the pandemic it's impossible to draw conclusions without digital sales. I was under the impression that there was a good amount of hype for FF7R in Spain.

When I bought FF7r in the Netherlands, I was kinda shocked how many copies their were of star wars jedi fallen on the shelves. And thinking about it, it isnt even weird that it the 4th best selling game to the 'casual' audiance beside gta, fifa and cod. I think a new released Ubisoft game would done amazing in this period.

Yeah JFO and LM3 are the two biggest surprises for me in recent times. They're both great games but even still at best I would've pegged both of them for 2-3 months tops of charting high before they were drowned out by the early 2020 slate but clearly that has not been the case, the only 2020 release that has been ahead of them recently being obviously AC. Very impressive for the both of them.
