On Amazon UK The Last of Us Part II Limited Edition Steelbook is already the second best selling game of the year and the regular sku is the fifth one. Expect a massive week one opening even at retail.

Anything around/over 200k would be very impressive and noteworthy. I just don't see it myself though if I were to hazard a guess, the highest exclusive OW of the gen is Sun/Moon at 295k and I don't think TLOU2 will be anywhere near that, just based off of what I'm seeing/hearing. Around Sword/Shield & Spider-Man just over 190k is more realistic IMO, but even then that's a significant amount higher than Animal Crossing New Horizons which launched to what 130k a few months ago, are we in a position where a game can open higher than that?

I'm not so sure that we are so I'll wait and see.

Is digital counted? If not especially with Covid going on, retail won't tell even half the story.

My dumbass going retail for TLOU2 worked out as badly as it could, dispatched on Thursday and still nowhere to be seen. If it's not here tomorrow I'm gonna just fuck it and get a digital copy.

It's getting bombarded review wise so let's see the legs on this game, they might not be great.

Two days ago both standard and steelbook editions were sold out on amazon.uk

The standard will be back in stock June 24. Don't know if these stock issues are present in retail stores as well.

that's a great launch for TLOU2, I wonder just how high it went with digital included. I expect it to have pretty good staying power as well.

Animal crossing having outsold every sony exclusive bar uncharted 4 after only six weeks is insanity..

It seems like this and the other figures could support an inference that the upper-bound of what UK retailers will stock for a blockbuster exclusive is 210-240K (using 80-90% sell-through as a range).

Sun/Moon were an exception due to coming months after Pokemon Go.

Switch exclusive launch should grow as we go deeper into the generation (looking at you Pokemon Gen 9).

TLOU PT 2 sold 1% more than U4 (physical) despite two days less and after the rise of digital sales which are much bigger today than 2016.

Incredible result.
