I might have missed someone mentioning the Reka deme on the previous pages but I didn't see anything, which surprised me. It's a Scandinavian-influenced game about being an apprentice witch to Baba Yaga, complete with building your own chicken-walker house. The demo is kind of rough in places and can end unexpectedly if you walk out of bounds, but the vibe is off the charts. I'm normally an "all gameplay, only gameplay" type of player but this feels like a world I'd like to sink into.

I had to pull myself back from the cliff of reinstalling New Vegas last night. I tried 76 for about 5 hours and was bored, but I'd like to play another sandbox game.

How is Capes, fellas?

Is it the superhero XCOM I was hoping Midnight Suns would be?

This month is insane. So many games I want to play.

Can't decide between Animal Well, 1000xRESIST, Crow Country or INDIKA haha. I'll probably wait a bit for the latter due to mainly playing on Steam Deck.
Don't forget Dread Delusion!

Its super unique (well, maybe not in the gameplay itself but just about everything else).

Its a really wonderfully weird setting/world. If you miss games like Morrowind for the memorable aesthetic and fresh visual take on dark fantasy, its worth a look.

Glad I tried Ghost of Tsushima on PS+ rather than buying at launch on PC. Not really feeling it, combat is cool but the open world isn't much fun so far and the story is a bit dry.

Will probably go back to it when I finish the games I bought and take another look.

Its nothing special really. While well made, it's your run of the mill ubisoft open world checklist game. Only thing it has going for it is the setting and nice locations.

Crow Country
1000xResist
Cryptmaster
Hades 2.

What do I doooo

Do what I did when I went to play one of them. Play an older game that you've already put copious amounts of time into. In my case, I ended up playing Stardew Valley with the spare hour I had rather than playing anything new.

Think that officially makes me a PC gamer now.

Maybe I should hold off on buying any more new games... nah lol.

I love how theres a theme of "you'll have to compromise your code to save the island" but you can still go full fuck it mode and just walk into forts.

Samurai don't need any of that weak shit, get those stealth tutorials out of my face.

Change:

Play an older game that you've already put copious amounts of time into.

To:

Buy one or two of them and then Play an older game that you've already put copious amounts of time into.

That's...not remotely true at all lol. It has a lot going for it. Story and characters are very good. Also combat is fantastic as you get more stances and tools to use. Great game.

GoT isn't a bad game, it's kind of mid. Combat being fun is great.

But it's definitely not a game I would pay full price years later that is practically Elden Ring launch price (for me).

25% discount is definitely a bit for me.

Everything just reminded me of AC2. Enemies are no threat at all (even less so with the other weapons you get, you barely need to change stances too the more you level up), missions are nice from a narrative point of view, but the actual gameplay again, reminded me of the older AC games. Go there, infiltrate, follow this guy without being seen, listen what he says to his comrades, rescue this person etc.

It was just not very engaging to me because it felt like I did it already a thousand times in other games. Maybe it's my open world fatigue but I really didn't feel this game is any special. I felt the same about Spider-Man, which I played before that. What I liked though, where the environments.

Quick question: When can we expect new OLED panels that are 1440p, 120-240Hz, and not curved? I'm considering getting the current one used with the LG 27GS95QE-B, but if there's something new coming soon, I might wait and upgrade my monitor with the next-gen GPUs.

Doesn't sound too bad really, I remember hearing the same thing for the Horizon games that they are kinda boring but I loved them and it's not like a play a ton of open world games.

The latest monitors that meet your criteria are adopting a new 360 Hz panel. Dell and MSI each have one on the market, while brands like Samsung are expected to follow later this year.

I just ordered this one: Alienware AW2725DF It should arrive in the coming week.

Not sure if there will be any significant upgrades over that in the near future.

Boss fights in a turn based tactics game? Pretty neat. And funny lines. Gears Tactics continues to be good.

Also LG has a 1440p panel with a new subpixel layout (RGWB instead of how they are currently RWBG) that isn't in any current or announced monitors that use yet. That is expected to improve the text clarity issue but who knows how effective it will be.

When will there be a product that uses that panel? Who knows. Later this year or maybe next years refresh. The "GS" in your post was just recently put out as this years refresh of the "GR" so they may space out the releases of the new panel could be for some new higher end line. Again, who knows.

I have a few basic questions but my google-fu i failing me.

  1. How do I know if a (steam) game has HDR besides google searching? is there a simple way to check?
  2. Do old games benefit from auto-HDR? Will bioshock look incredible now?

I like gear tactics quite a bit. I wish there was a sequel. My biggest issue with it is the "content" so to speak. there are, relatively speaking, few enemy types, few classes, few bosses, etc.

I just wanted more. Being Microsoft i wonder if we would ever get a sequel. I think a sequel could really take off.

Lost in Random is nice little game but those battles can really be awful. You can spend more time in some battles with normal enemies than with boss. And combat is really mediocre, for the most part you are just running around and shooting with a slingshot at crystals on enemies to gain ability to throw dice and get cards. And cards give you only way to harm enemy (weapons, bombs, hazards). So encounters can last a looong time and they are boring.

Characters are fun and environments are interesting. Most quests are basically fetch quests (both main and side ones).

Overall I still like the game and I will continue to play it but barely half way through I already feel fatigue due to combat.

And Depression The Game (Plague Tale 2) returned to doom and gloom after 2 neutral chapters XD But environments are still amazing and voice actors did great job for basically all characters (but especially for Amicia and Hugo).

I have been playing Outer Worlds and I have to say, Cila makes every other planet in the game looks subpar. Wish it was bigger.

I was trying to play on my Oled TV, but the game was stuck in 1440p. In the end, I went back to my monitor. Really good game so far.

Anybody have any good recommendations on a decent but not overpriced pair of PC speakers for a standard desk setup? My ancient-ass Logitech speakers seem to finally be reaching the end of their far-longer-than-expected lifespan.
