I want someone to stop me from pre-ordering the Canon 85 mm 1.4
He probably wants something with accurate AF.
Dig deeper into the video reviews and a lot of people tend to say the AF is inconsistent. It's very lens specific at times, but between the 3 Sigma lenses I had the only accurate one was the 70-200. The 18-35 and 17-50 were garbage. It's either that or I ran far too low on my shutter speed, but even when I didn't those were a mess. Pretty much my thought process is Tamron or used first party. Is Sigma's AF underperforming? I haven't really heard anything but good things about their ART-series.
Of course! Plenty of us shoot film tooDo you accept analog photographers in the club? Because if you do, it might be a good time to finally make a flickr account :3
Hello everyone! I've posted over at the SL&ENT photography thread, but figured I would also introduce myself here.
I've been a photographer for about 6ish years. The majority of my studio work combines photography with other mediums, such as 3D printing and scene construction. I also do projects such as paintings, graphic design work, and digital modeling.
I started one here:So is there an equipment thread yet?

I find it really relaxing to take nature photos with my D500 and 70-300mm lens....
I was def looking at this camera today, do u think it's good for professional services like lifestyles?I don't generally post in these types of threads but figured a contribution can help move things along in this new space. I also have a question! Is there a gear thread yet?
Shot on a Fuji TX-2 with Cinestill 800 film and developed in C-41.

You can also wrap each photo in a quote to make them appear smaller. Then people can click on a photo to make it its original size.
Professional as in self own business. Lifestyle is a type of portrait service i want to get in as well as landscape photography. Was just wondering if the camera was good for those things. So far from I'm seeing, it canNot sure what you mean by "professional services like lifestyles." I don't really use it in my work kit. Film being expensive and all. I will say that I will never sell this camera as I adore it, that is, unless they release a digital version of it.

Nice colors. Probably on the set of Sexy Beast. It can handle that, yes. It has an adjustment period and kind of lends itself to a certain style.
I was originally introduced to it by a photographer I had the pleasure of working with. He took an amazing portrait of Ray Winstone with the Xpan version and once I saw that, I knew I wanted it. I'd say go for it. It isn't cheap but it's wonderful piece of kit. I still need to get the 30mm lens ( I have the 90mm and 45mm) but that thing costs as much as the camera if not more so I'll wait it out and get it eventually. Here's the shot of Ray Winstone that sold me on it:
Yeah, he was the unit stills photographer on that so that makes sense.
Crazy view. Where is this? You spend hours and hours hiking to the perfect place and then realise you left your fancy fucking camera in the car and can only use your phone to take a picture :( . Looks really nice on an AMOLED screen at least.

It is in Austria. I think the area is called Hinterstoder, not sure which mountain though. This is about 2000m up I think, pretty amazing that was. The day could not have been any clearer, not a single cloud.

With Vern anything marked 35mm is the Sigma Art 35mm 1.4.This last one caught my eye. Looking at the Flickr info, it just shows the lens as "35mm". What lens was this with?
I love the last one the most. I wouldn't give up the D810 for much of anything. Numerous recalls D750 is a different story though, though I'd personally like to trade in my D600 towards either a D4 or D750.Omg finally, i was banned from the other forum a couole of years ago and i missed this threads so much, it was awful not being able to post and share my work. That topic inspired me to become a photographer 5 years ago, the first picture i took was to post it there and it was awuful lol.
I am now a full time photographer and videograper, weddings and commercial work
I'll be hanging around here now
