That's been he case for 95% of all anime license titles in the past 15 years.
One of my favorite anime of the last 10 years. Funny, charming, heartfelt, and yes, boobs. Too bad some people want to judge a book exclusively by its cover.
I mean, one of the pages of the book is a 1000 year old dragon woman with huge tits wanting to fuck an 8 year old who's name pretty much translates to "young boy".
Another page is another 1000 year old dragon woman who is taking the form of an 8 year old girl making another 8 year old girl horny.
The cover ain't the problem lol.

Yep i agree its a wholesome show. (Except the relationship between Lucoa and Shouta, which i dont like). Definitely AOTY for me so far. Im excited what KytotoAni is doing next as a project.

CyberConnect2 makes a small minority of licensed anime games. There are so many more companies out there doing it.

There are plenty of funny, charming, and heartfelt animes out there that don't feature pedophilia.
I haven't watched it, but I wanted to based on how great the art style seemed. And then I read about the content and noped out.
That's what sucks about it. Nothing about Made in Abyss changes if the main characters aged up. It's just the author's fetishes.
I mean, Dragon Maid's straight-up pedoshit goes a step beyond what's "problematic" in most anime, or at least most popular anime.
I'd be lying if I said Made in Abyss didn't absolutely contend with this franchise in terms of gross/problematic content, but I always found the underneath fascinating for made in abyss while Dragon Maid seems to be just all around Garbage.
I'm really looking forward to exploring the abyss in the upcoming MOA game but I don't know if my love for shmups can get me to even consider playing this game.

I think the big "twist" (really just how fucked up the series gets) definitely loses impact if the characters are aged up. Same thing with Evangelion imo. Them being children is what makes it all the more insane
Magical girl shump is a thing. I'd imagine the dragon forms will be main playable and human forms will be bonuses. They also had an anime ending playing with a similar idea
That doesn't really work because
They're doing something they're not supposed to be doing as kids anyway. Kids are supposed to be red whistles only. The story wouidn't have changed if they were actually adults who are doing what their rank alows them to do and seeing the fallout from that. If Riko was an 18 year old Black Whistle, who's been training to go deeper in the abyss, finds the robot, the letter from her mom, decides to go to the bototm, how's that any different than what we have now?

Yeah, but them being kids and doing that IS what makes it extra fucked up. And I think the mangaka definitely wants that aura of "woah, that's fucked up!" lol
Huge fan of the show, will grab this one on Switch. More Dragon Maid is always a good thing for me.
Dragon maid actually has a decent story and writing, so no it isn't bad as KLK :P
At the minimum then this game should probably be fun to play, even if the show it's connected to is problematic.
But the most fucked up parts are coming from the author's head.
The weird fixation on the robot boy's penis. The robot boy being forced to piss in a tube and have samples collected of it. etc
