That's what I thought.
Why exactly are you insulting me out of nowhere?
No, it did not became very good, its not in a very good place, its the same turd as always, same enemies, same "fight while my ghost scans shit" missions, same crappy weapons and stupid pvp.
Jesus christ, no wonder why Bungie keeps pulling the same shit.
Now you've caught on to what he does!Repetitive missions, stupid grind with worthless loot (ships and fucking emblems), stupid things like raid only mods (and other nonsensical crap), SAME enemies from D1, with same stupid ai, boring weapons (but hey, lets grind for that exotic masterwork that changes absolutely nothing), the "great" pvp, non exisiting endgame, and many, many more.
But you know what, im shitposting, because thats the only possibility when someone is dissapointed with Bungie and Destiny.
- Weapon handling is still ass. Scoping in, swapping weapons, shooting after a jump, reloading, it's all extremely clunky. Considering "gun feel" was one of D1's highlights it's amazing they decided to shit on it. This is imo the main reason why the game feels so much worse.
- Time to kill is still, on average, too high. PvE (specially in Heroic Strikes because of modifiers like Iron) feels like a slog where you slowly plink away at enemies with primaries to slowly chip health away. It's even worse post-Warmind since they made "Match Game lite" standard across the board.
- The game still feels like an inventory management challenge more than a shooter, with far many more mods and shaders than you can actually store and no way to quickly get rid of them
- Difficulty vs reward is still completely borked. A Prestige NF is easier than a regular NF,
They still haven't reverted on the rest of their bad calls (double primaries, 4v4-only PvP, static rolls with a huge pool of terrible perks, etc).
The saddest part its that i would love for the game to be good. It's crazy... Folks that I know who aren't really big gamers but invested a lot of time in D1, dropped D2 without hesitation -- and have zero plans on returning.
I would really love to know how Bungie dropped the ball on this one.

Game recently got very good with the Warmind Expansion.
It´s in a really good place right now.
Worth checking out.
Me too. I'd love for the gear awarded in the new lair to not be a reskin of the gear that dropped in the last lair. I'd love to not have spent the past year hoping Bungie would bring D2 up to the standard set by D1, but we're still nowhere near that, and it remains to be seen if Forsaken will at the very least get us back D1 levels. The saddest part its that i would love for the game to be good.
Tess isn't awful at all. Just playing the game gives you everything Tess has to offer besides a absolutely few minor thingsThus only giving 2 days. If they gave people longer, they'd also find out that the endgame sucks (yes, still). Crucible is still as awful as its ever been. The lack of matchmaking is still as awful as its ever been. The weapon load out system is still terrible. Tess is still awful. etc etc
Holy fuck no lol
You can absolutely play the campaign by yourself, and do patrols and lost sectors. Is it possible to play this single player?
I've seen a lot of writing about it but I don't really like FPS nor multiplayer games.
But for the price of free I'll have a look probably :)
Destiny threads...There's always drama.
Easy: The game was too heavily geared towards casual and low investment players. Features and mechanics were watered down to make the game simpler and more accessible, but that ultimately ruined the game and long term incentives for many players.
They've made several improvements to the game over the last year. More are coming next month, and Forsaken, the next major expansion, coming September 4th, is looking to bring almost everything that is missing and everything we want in the game.
Any in-game reward system that requires RNG is lame. Compounded moreso by the fact that if you pay real money, you're still subjected to the same RNG mechanics. If everything was for sale directly without RNG and then the free drops utilized RNG, I'd be more cool with that. But the way they designed Tess was to monetize shit like shaders. Remember when they said they changed shaders to encourage us to play specific game modes more than once? Well then why are so many shaders only obtainable via RNG at Tess' shithole of a store?Tess isn't awful at all. If that were actually true, they wouldn't have been trying desperately the past 9 months to convince their player base that they were working as quickly as possible to return the game back to where D1 once was.I think Destiny 2 is better than D1 in almost every single way, and by the looks of it Forsaken is going to make it actually better in every way.
Wait you don't agree? This is objective. Weapon handling in Destiny 2 is significantly slower and clunkier than it was in D1.This is not a complaint I have heard almost ever. I don't agree with it at all.
I'm 385 across the board. But killing a yellow bar with primaries is just absolutely terrible, and now that killing them doesn't guarantee Power ammo gets returned you'll often find yourself slowly chipping away with a scout. This is more down to double primaries than it is down to damage balancing but the point stands - the pace of killing and moving on is slower.I ignore the playlist when Iron is available but other than that, I'm not seeing this. Are you still a lower Power level? I'm like 370 now and Heroic Strikes are absolutely not a "slog where you slowly plink away" anymore.
Yeah but they still haven't detailed what it'll take to get things back they still haven't given me a way to get rid of shaders quickly. This is minor and is not much of an issue anymore. Since Warmind, you could delete any weapon, armor piece, Ghost, Sparrow, ship and it will appear in the Collections in September.
Well it's not game breaking (what is?) but it's certainly annoying and it detracts from my experience to a point where I literally don't even turn in mats to the gunsmith just so I don't have to deal with the inventory. It is a problem that you can only hold 50 mods and 50 shaders -- but a minor problem. Shaders are rarely an issue for me as I delete a ton of legendary ones I know I'm not going to use. Mods are the only one of the two that can actually be an issue as it requires moving some mods back and forth from the vault. It's a pain. Not game-breaking, however.
You *can* make PNFs harder, but it's insane that you can make them *easier* while it still is a "prestige" endgame activity. Add a singe enemies in that particular strike don't use + Heavyweight and it's smooth sailing. Since Warmind I don't even run regular NFs anymore since Prestige is so much faster and easier. Check the LFG posts on discord and you'll see I'm not alone here. This is straight up factually incorrect. What in the world are you talking about? If you have the Challenge Card, there is absolutely no reason why Prestige should be easier than the regular. Nightfall.
...which is why I said it isn't really where it should be yet but hopefully will be. It's telling that all of these major "improvements" are just them backing down on D2 and going back to D1:We're still waiting on the weapon slot issue and random rolls, yes. They're coming late August/early September. For the record, I enjoy double primaries. The issue is that it hurt the loadouts in other ways, such as making shotguns and snipers useless. They seem to have found a great solution to this, however.
Also, Control, Clash and Supremacy are all permanently being changed to 6v6 in two weeks.
Just a difference of opinion, I guess. I like D2 so much that I went back and finally played D1 with all the expansions just last week to see how things had progressed since vanilla. Even with all the updates that game still feels like a mess to me compared to D2.If that were actually true, they wouldn't have been trying desperately the past 9 months to convince their player base that they were working as quickly as possible to return the game back to where D1 once was.

Take a look at this video and how quickly after Shadestepping/jumping you could get a shot off. Or how quickly you could swap guns. Note this isn't even on a QuickDraw Bladedancer or an Ophidian Warlock:

Even if I started downloading it now, by the time I'd finished downloading the free weekend would be over. Don't be so late next time, Sony
Please stop quoting me with your shitposts.
I'm recommending people check out this game for free this weekend that I like a lot in its current state.
Really sorry you take offense with that.
The matrix makes that a non issue. I get a free 3-4 rolls per week casually playing the game. I've got pretty much everything she has by not even trying.Any in-game reward system that requires RNG is lame. So in other words, I should hate them even more. Got it.They should have a free weekend for Xbox and PC players who paid the same amount for all the content as PS4 players to play the exclusive PS4 content. 2 of the best 3 or 4 strikes are ones you guys have never played.
I don't get the hate for this game.
Picked it up for $20CAD. I've played a few hours so far and it's been enjoyable at that price. Shooting is great. Can't wait to get to PvP stuff.
It's way better then the Divison lol.
Ive only played Division vanilla. It had the worst bullet sponge shooting mechanics I've ever had in a game. And then you end with that hot take? smfh
Game is miles worse than The Division, a game that launched with similar issues to D2, but actually fixed them within a few months (without then asking season pass holders to buy ANOTHER season pass to get the 'fixed' version of the game).
The Division is an RPG. Destiny has plenty of bullet sponges too, PLENTY. You definitely have no fucking idea what you're talking about.Ive only played Division vanilla. It had the worst bullet sponge shooting mechanics I've ever had in a game.
I don't need to beat Destiny 2 to know that the combat in D2 is far superior.
Sorry if this has been answered, but is it free for the weekend only or free forever if you download this weekend?
Aren't you just the friendliest. Wish I was in the know like you my man.The Division is an RPG. Destiny has plenty of bullet sponges too, PLENTY. You definitely have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
Free to play for the weekend.

These are my feeling from playing the game. I'm sorry my few hours in a game don't give me the ability to make judgements. How many hours do you need to turn into an entitled asshole? Over 100?
Division might be fixed now but it was far worse and still is super bland. And then you end with that hot take? smfh

Considering the game is free of charge starting today, I'm not sure why some people even need a thread to explain to them why they should download a free game. You can just try it yourself.
Division was never worse than Destiny 2 was, it had almost the exact same problems at launch, and they both had one redeeming activity (Dark zone for Div, raids for Destiny) that got stale after about a month. Difference? The Division season pass had release dates pushed BACK so they could fix the issues, and then they fixed them, the season pass content then came out and was actually great and ADDED to the game. Destiny just kept pumping out trash content while saying "Hey we'll fix it" and then wants to charge you 40 dollars with another pass on top of it to fix it.Division might be fixed now but it was far worse and still is super bland.
