PSA: Returnal's latest patch corrupting save files, disable auto-update. (UP: new patch available, if save is already corrupted it’s gone forever)

So I had auto updates/install for games turned off and when I started playing today the game went offline and forced a download of the latest patch. I didn't think the system could do that...

is 1.3.4 safe to use? It's not like I have a choice right now anyways. :/

Knock on wood but I feel like an outlier here. I've only had two crashes like right when I started the game for the first time but since then it's been a completely fine experience.
