Case #1: Immensely insecure users about being downvoted.

I know I'm gonna get downvoted, but...

EDIT: LOL, why the downvotes? Don't like the truth?

---

Case #2: The same phrases.

To be fair...

Can confirm. Am [insert label or alleged profession here].

---

Case #3: Pun chains. (I don't think any examples are needed. Just stop.)

---

Case #4: Long descriptive titles trying to paint a unique story, when it's really just a standard boring photo.

My grandma died and I inherited this treasure trove of gaming goodness she left me in her will. Wow, I'm stunned!
(How do we know you didn't just take a photo of your existing gaming collection?)

---

The cases go on and on. In essence, it's become insufferable because there's too much karma-farming.

The Earthporn subreddit falls victim to paragraph length post titles. Some of them are so ridiculous, it's enjoyable.

The constant starting of sentences with "I mean" and starting thread titles on this site with "so, uh...." are worse than anything reddit does.

I hate the upvote/downvote system. It's usually a dumb pun or joke that's at the top. I have a friend that I know browses Reddit a lot and his jokes are terrible, and I'm sure Reddit is to blame. Every joke he makes sounds like it could have been an dreadful top voted comment on Reddit.

Reddit has a lot that's insufferable. Have they done any sort of surveys on the userbase too btw? I feel like it's 90+% white which is honestly offputting.

Individual subs do their own surveys sometimes, but this is what the userbase looks like according to Alexa rank.

You're gonna have a lot of shitheads posting when you're the 5th most popular website in the US. There's literally millions of posters.

This is interesting, because ERA feels like it's 95% American most of the time.

Never *got* Reddit. The whole up vote/down vote and karma system is just not a good system when paired with human nature and tribalism.

I propose that we enslave Modbot to replace every usage of yikes on this forum with JINKIES

Aha! Looks like those silly reddit admins caught me using bots to both upvote my posts and downvote my opponent's posts. Good on them!

Is there any word on Era's stance on "yikes"?

Also, what's Era's consensus on Bloodborne? I'm not capable of forming an opinion for myself.

I don't get the yikes meme. What other ways are there to express a mix of surprise and disgust? It's not exclusive to ERA either.

When any community on the internet gets too big it becomes shit. ERA is very much on the edge of being too big. All of the default subs are already far too big. You need to find some good smaller subs. I find that ~10,000 members is the sweet spot for quality vs quantity of content produced and/or discussion to be had.

This gets me going way more than any reddit-ism (more so because i don't know anyone who unironically thinks reddit is funny or good for anything but, like, subs for Destiny type games or whatever). Then when I say what the fuck do you mean theyre incredulous I don't follow some fighting game streamer and that I don't understand it.

Can we talk about how Reddit mannerisms and patterns have become completely insufferable?

Long posts that are meant to do nothing but waste the reader's time.

Like a long story that looked like it was relevant to the thread, but ends with "OP should have attached a serious tag" or some shitty three fiddy joke.

That's just being an asshole.

I hate that Twitch lingo/emotes are taking over too.
