Does the game tell you exactly where you need to go to find an item you need for a puzzle, or is it more like "solve x puzzzle here to progress," where you still need to look for the item?
The latter, just like RE7Does the game tell you exactly where you need to go to find an item you need for a puzzle, or is it more like "solve x puzzzle here to progress," where you still need to look for the item?
If you watch the gameplay, it's not, there are no QTE events when you get grabbed, no QTE prompts when you stun zombies in the head either.
The loss of an actual soundtrack when exploring the different areas is a big loss for me - it sounds like it's all just ambience now. Although, the fact you can make it so the original soundtrack plays instead (if you pay for it) makes up for it.My only gripes is that the RPD station wasn't that dark and there's no similar background music, so download the ost is a must.
Being so similar to revelations doesn't inspire that much hope tbh. I'm not seeing puzzle, mistery and other elements of RE2, and this will probably be as linear and streamlined as possible so yeah.
Looks pretty, but it's not as glorious as REmake.
I honestly don't know how anyone can watch his and not be excited. I mean it looks incredible.
I'm definitely playing this shit with someone else by my side lol, no way my coward ass will be able to handle playing this solo, with the lights off and headphones on.I wouldn't go that far, but I am nervous about encountering them. I made it through bloodborne's spider room, so hopefully I'll make it through this. Might need to get my wife to sit with me, though.
- The word Zombie is not used in the docs shown thus far. Replaced by "mobs" or attributing it to stress, despite the acknowledgement of an outbreak.
Edit: That being said, most of the documents shown omit mention of Chief Irons, so some of that mystery is missing specifically in the demo. In the trailer we do hear Chief Irons and see Mayor Warren's daughter's body, so I'm leaning towards that just being missed by the issue of the demo being only 20 minutes.
Essential, even.
Classic inventory would have been a nice touch.Only thing i'm not liking is the RE7 UI, would be cooler if they made something more akin to RE2
I think the last few Capcom games had the 6 month gap between announcement and release. This is EASILY the game of the show.
- Something that wasn't even guaranteed to happen at this year's E3
- Announcement Trailer
- Trailer was actually stunning
- Trailer ended with A RELEASE DATE (which isn't insanely far off)
- A Playable demo was ready for E3
... All of this... in ONE.
That is something that a publisher does when they are extremely confident in their game. The game is reportedly done and has 6 or so months of polish before release.
That is absolutely insane. GOTS!
I like the Dreamcast version the most, but the PS1 version is perfectly fine.Whats the best version of origibal RE2? I wanna play that before I get this. Would I be good with the version on PS1 on psn?
what the hell happened Duke? :(

PS1 version on PSN store is perfectly serviceable. It has all the content.
In my own experience, the Gamecube version via emulation is the best one. Gamecube is the only version where you can skip the in-engine cut-scenes. I might be wrong but it also retains the 60 FPS CG scenes. Plus the available smoothing options in the emulator for 2D elements (re: all backgrounds) make the image quality more passable than other versions for me. Also you can inject custom textures in Dolphin and there are a few fan made texture packs to make all fonts, UI etc HD friendly.
I still like the PS1 version, it looks crisp, the loading times seems to strike the good balance between not too long and not too fast, the FMVs looks nice too.
I'm not convinced it's not placeholder, I mean it's directly out of RE7Only thing i'm not liking is the RE7 UI, would be cooler if they made something more akin to RE2
Ah ok, will check it out. Sounds like a hybrid then.If you watch the gameplay, it's not, there are no QTE events when you get grabbed, no QTE prompts when you stun zombies in the head either.
Which is fine by me, but I hope the aiming speed and the wrestling finisher moves are present in Mercs.

Hmm...I mean, I DO like RE7's but hmm...I think it's the new unified UI for the RE series going forward. They're most likely making this the new template for the series.
I'm definitely in the minority here, but I wish the RE4 style tank controls were back or at least an option. I don't want to move + shoot.
I don't think I mind moving and shooting so much, but I would like a more weighty feel, like RE4/RE5. I don't really like when it feels like your ice-skating all over the place, and it looks like REmake 2 has that feel.I'm definitely in the minority here, but I wish the RE4 style tank controls were back or at least an option. What do you mean? They totally use the Z-word in the documents.
I think Chief Irons starts to be mentioned when you get into the STARS work room, I think ? The fax talks about how Irons has had a history of sexual abuse and violence.
