It would be so easy to make the typical heroes and villains - but in these films, each character is nuanced. They have proper motivations.
When I saw that in the cinema on it's original release, a good whack of the audience yelled out "YEEEEEEESSSSS!" at that scene.
Power of cinema, guys!
the "oh god, puhleeze" feeling of the lame callback line was the perfect setup
the murder-serious response ripped me the fuck outta my seat
Still one of my favorite theater memories. I saw an early matinee and everyone else in the theater was like me, we all just wanted to beat the heat and get some AC for two hours. When that happened the theater was dead silent for like ten seconds and then someone up front said "SHIT!"
Fucking insane in the theater. You could hear the audience breathe in deep.
I was sure this movie was going to be shit but I absolutely loved it. Still my favourite of the three tbh.
When this moment happened the cinema fell completely silent nobody moved a muscle. Really good shit.
Yes. Same here. In that moment, you could feel all the oxygen get sucked out of the theater, and no one expected it.One of the most memorable audience reactions I've experienced in a movie theater, for sure.
First one was great
Second one was okay
I don't even remember the third one so I need to rewatch it again
Wonder how Disney will treat the IP now that it is under their umbrella
It's why I held off on calling him a villain. He's such a rich character you can sympathize with even if you see him doing objectively shitty things. It would be so easy to make the typical heroes and villains - but in these films, each character is nuanced. They have proper motivations.
Yeah I had no interest in watching this but my cousins wanted to watch it so I ended up seeing it in theaters. That moment had me and the whole theater audibly gasping. Legit jaw dropping moment and of course I ended up watching the rest of the trilogy in theaters on my own,It's pretty good summation of most's reaction to this movie/the trilogy.
They had apes riding horses and holding rifles, and you could easily take it all seriously
And they seem out of order
I think that's the point - Malfoy is a complete incompetent who can't stand his job. Why would he bother to learn how to do it properly? That scene was ruined for me by the fact that the idiot with the taser started swinging it at him like a baton.
I immediately thought "Why is he swinging it instead of using it?" when I saw the movie the first time.
No one would do that, they would use the taser, to...you know...tase. Made no sense to quit using it as a taser and just start swinging 🤣 . Had to set up the moment somehow though. Obviously, I let the thought go after a few seconds. Just made me kind of laugh at how dumb it was.

I was a liiiiiitle bit underwhelmed as well, but because I love Dawn so much. One of my favorite sequels of all time.I need to rewatch the 3rd one. I was pretty underwhelmed by it when I saw it in theaters, but everyone else seems to dig it.
Third one was just an okay film about war and internment camps imo. The fact that there were hyper-intelligent apes was kinda tangential. The CGI was amazing though.First one was great

Great movie and great director, but this one was directed by Rypert Wyatt, Matt directed the other two.Fantastic moment, fantastic trilogy. Can't wait to see what Matt Reeves brings to Batman.
The acting is immense too. I can't think off-hand of any bad performances in any of them.
Fair point - I think we have to agree to disagree or such.Funny you say that... I love the scene in the op, but Tom Felton is not particularly great in it.
If you listen/read interviews with the people behind the films they weren't planned out.Goes to show what you can accomplish when you plan out your movie trilogy
