I imagine Dusk will be here sooner or later to comment.Fair warning, DanielRPK isn't exactly the most reliable source when it comes to gaming. I'd wait for someone more reputable to corroborate this rumor before we buy into it.
Softporn Adventure. Is this the first time in recorded history the same game would have been remade twice?
Not counting remaster then remakes like Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 -> PS4
Yea, Lisa's suffered enough. Plus it's getting old having a stalker follow you and then you get enough weaponry to not worry about it anymore.
An idea off the top of my head, what if they introduce a Crimson Head subtype that is actually unkillable; the only way to stop it (and it can follow you into any room, even save rooms) is to lock it inside a room; you would get items to barricade/block off doors etc. Of course this means you lose access to the room, so you have to plan which one to 'sacrifice' and not trap yourself in the mansion.
At least that's on backwards compatible consoles and PCSadly, this will probably be the death sentence for the 2002 version since it seems Capcom has no interest in ever porting previous versions of RE titles again once they are remade, but I'm still interested.
I honestly think remaking RE1 again is one of the two options that actually makes sense (the other being CV). We really don't need a remake of RE5 at this point.
Final Fantasy's gotta' be up there. NES/Famicom/MSX, WonderSwan/PS1/GBA, PSP/3DS/Mobile, Pixel Remaster. That's 4 right there, could arguably be split apart into more. Might be even more I've missed, too.Is this the first time in recorded history the same game would have been remade twice?

wasn't this already remade on a modern engine? surely I am missing something here
What do you mean again
They are all old at this point but Capcom won't let them actually age. Jill is like in her 50s and i believe Capcom said her aging has slowed due to the virus and being cured. All of them, even Rebecca should have moved on and had a family at this point, but can't do that! They will all die of old age fighting Umbrella (or whatever) before acting like normal people.
I mean correct me if I am wrong, he hasn't been a playable character in a mainline RE game since RE6. Which was over 12 years ago. This would be Leon's fourth appearance as a playable character in a mainline RE game. It is a lot.

Damn, I was hoping for a remake of Resident Evil 5 instead, to make it less broken and less racist.
And I love Leon but I dunno if my man needs to be the main character in another RE game.
Yeah, it's been a long time. The last time we played as "Older Leon" was in 2012. I mean, i love wisecracking babyface Leon, but a more serious and mature Leon would do wonders for me. We already seen Chris (Village) and Claire (Rev2) being like that, time for Leon too.I mean correct me if I am wrong, he hasn't been a playable character in a mainline RE game since RE6. I don't see anything wrong with people in their 50s still doing their thing, not everyone needs to have a family either. We need more older men and women as main characters in games.
This would be Leon's fourth appearance as a playable character in a mainline RE game (2, 4, 6, now 9). It is a lot.
Chris has five, six if you count Not A Hero. Either of them being prominent is particularly unusual.
(We really need more of Claire, but I guess she's canonically in a less combative role as a part of TerraSave)
Yeah, this right here is the issue with the stalker stuff. It's such a linear set of possibilities wrt how to deal with it. But you can absolutely have an enemy design that is as oppressive as a Mr. X but is also more interesting in the choices you make to deal with it. Whether it's the suggestion above about locking them in rooms or being lazy about disposing of bodies and fucking yourself up that way if they come back as some random mutation that's far worse, like a crimson head++I would go even weirder. Crimson Heads are just ONE evolution zombies can mutate into if not disposed of properly. And they can branch out in multiple ways. Make it so the player DOESN'T KNOW what to expect instead of "ugh, this shit again" whenever the scary music kicks in.
I see no reason to implement Crimson Heads if RE2 2019 is anything to go by. Zombies already do far too much damage, take way too many resources to deal with and are basically immortal unless you get a crit shot on their heads.I would go even weirder. Jill is the main character in Revelations, though she isn't the only playable character in it. She was the main playable character in Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape, with the latter being her last canonical appearance as a playable character in the timeline. Though you could argue that playing as her is optional in them. And we haven't seen playable Jill since RE3. And she had big sections of gameplay taken away from her in her own remake.

I've been kinda screaming for the same thing with CV to M2. Learn from your mistakes give it a little bit bigger budget and let them take a 2nd crack at itI don't see why not. There's demand for it and all these remakes sell well. Even RE:3 with a 79 MC is already close to 9 million.
Give RE:CV to M2.

Also... Why complicate V-ACT further by having other mutations? It's science magic as is, imagine the files having to explain that a t-infected human can undergo several kinds of mutations. lol
Then again, it's not like the franchise hasn't done that kind of thing before, so whatever.

Revelations, like Code Veronica, is not a mainline game however much wishing upon a star is involved.
