Funny to see myself quoted after all this time. I actually ended up putting a figure inside my new case after switching it and the CPU cooler from my old ones.

Wow nice that looks awesome! And that Jigglypuff is a great idea! :D I'm thinking of buying a Define R6 case when I upgrade my PC sometimes this year but honestly it would be a waste of money because I just got a R4 two years ago, that tempered glass of the R6 is tempting though...

I replaced my Corsair R 100 after 7 months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The R6 does indeed look nicer, but don't feel forced to switch. My case was always only temporary until I found something nicer. Options were I live are pretty limited so I bought the cheapest case that could fit my parts until something better showed up.

Well okay that's a short "turn-around" time but if it was always meant to be temporary to replace a cheap one why not! :) I guess I'll make the R6 purchase depending on how much RAM prices will normalize and if I can sell my R4 and other parts. Right now my PC is under my desk but with a tempered-glass R6 I would put it on my desk and add some interior LEDs and double it as a desk-light so to speak and it would finally motivate me to care about my case interior design.

I like those custom built cases, I'm tempted to make a ITX case but worried about scuff marks on clear acrylic and the dust build up.

- Alienware AW3418DW 34" 120Hz GSync monitor (on Humanscale M8 arm)

- Philips Fidelio X1 Headphones
- Philips Fidelio X2 Headphones
- Fiio E17 DAC
- Yamaha YAS-103 Soundbar

- Lian Li Q33W Aluminum ITX Case
- Intel i7 8700K CPU
- Coolermaster 212 EVO HSF
- 32GB (2x16) GSkill Ripjaws DDR4
- Samsung 1TB SM961 SSD
- Asrock Fatality Z370 ITX/AC Motherboard
- Seasonic X650 PSU
- Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini ITX

- Logitech G602 Wireless Mouse
- MK Disco TKL RGB (KBT Brown) Keyboard

Im kind of tempted to downgrade my ram to 16GB (2x8) and use the extra cash to upgrade the 1070 to a 1080. Ram prices are kind of crazy right now and I bought 32gb back when it was CHEAP (like under $150) and don;t think I am using anywhere near all of it. The 1080 would definitely help push the pixels on my 34" monitor (I only had a 27" back when I built the rig).

Gorgeous setup - well done. That monitor wasn't even on my radar.

How would you rate the chair? Would you buy it again, or try something else? I'm very close to pulling the trigger on one.

I would buy it again at the price I paid for it (~$1100 using coupon stacked during a sale), not worth the asking price. Sometimes I do long for a "comfier" executive chair with headrest and thick cushions but this guy does what it's supposed to (keep a healthy posture) and I have no soreness after all day sitting sessions.

Does this count? It's a bit older, but it's great for games. :p

Facetiousness aside, here's my main PC. It's a bit long in the tooth in some respects, but it's held up well. I'll try to grab some better pics when I get home. I've also got a few retro PCs that could be fun to show off.

This one has:
Core i5 750 @3.9 GHz
24 GB DDR3 (only 16 GB in that pic)
GeForce GTX 980 ti
Sound Blaster X-fi Xtrememusic
250GB SSD for Windows
750 GB SSD for games
2 2TB HDDs in RAID 1 for storage
USB 3.1 card (can't remember the brand)
ASUS Wifi card (can't remember the model, but it's the dual band version that gets up to 1.3 Gbps)
NZXT Kraken X61
It's all in a Corsair Obsidian 750D

I like your build. I ran that i5-750 until just about a year ago at 3.6 and honestly it hasn't been much different upgrading to a 6600k. I bet you do just fine on most big games with what you have. Also I love the Xtrememusic, that was a great card back in the day and an affordable way to get OpenAL. You have me thinking about raiding my garage to find my old one..

So happy I was able to snag a 1080ti before the crazy prices back in December. Went all air cooling for this build.

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX-TG
Core 17-7700k
Noctua NH-D15s w Chromax covers
MSI z270i carbon
MSI 1080ti Duke
Samsung 850 evo 500gb ssd
Seagate 2 TB HDD
Corsair RM750x

Recently got the Alienware AW3418DW, and I love it.

This is the best looking PC in this thread. I'm dead serious. This is so soothing to look at, I don't know what it is, maybe it's perfectly matching white color and nicely beveled edges on all components. Maybe I just grew weary of all these over the top builds nowadays cluttered with LEDs and what not.

Damn guys, I'm so jealous of all you. I've been wanting to build a gaming rig but haven't had the time to invest into PC gaming for a while, so been holding back. I hope I will soon.

What case is that?
Not slothman but that is the famous Phanteks Evolv ATX TG case. They do the tempered glass in different size variants now, all the way down to the ITX form factor.

Bought this beast for $10 on Craigslist. It's a Pentium Dual-Core, 2x2 GB DDR2, HD 5450 1GB rig. Booted up like a charm after cleaning and new thermal paste. Oh, and the ziptie in the 5.25" bay is to hold down a 2.5" HDD since the case has no slots for 2.5" drives and I don't have a spare 2.5" to 3.5" adapter handy.

Gonna overclock the CPU and later swap in my GT 740 for some 720p/900p gaming goodness plus benchmarking for fun. After that, I'll mod the motherboard to install a Xeon X5460 I picked up for $10.

I'd swap out that PSU... Diablotek PSUs are cheap nasty and potential fire risk PSUs.... see Tier 5

Oh, I did. :) Had a spare SeaSonic M12II 620w 80+ bronze lying around. But, I booted up the old dusty fire-hazard once just to see if the PSU even powered on at all (it did) and wanted to get a pic of it as-is.

Good good :)... Amazing that type of PSUs are even sold... Seasonic M12II are solid of course.

I mostly keep it to run my old collection of software/games and it still works pretty well for a laptop that is more than a decade old!

Hi guys, I'm looking to upgrade my I5-4460 processor to something better. Is there anything else better that is sub £200 ($300). Or would the performance be negligable to the point where it's not worth the bother?
