Sifu is the new game of Sloclap, the independent studio behind Absolver. A third person action game featuring intense hand-to-hand combat, it puts you in control of a young Kung-Fu student on his path of revenge throughout the city. Coming out in 2021.

After releasing Absolver, we chose to build on our experience creating exciting and innovative martial arts gameplay, and used everything we learned from our first game to create a 3rd person action game featuring intense Kung-Fu combat with unprecedented authenticity. Inspired by our passion for Kung Fu, and martial arts movies in general, we decided to focus on a single-player experience to build an immersive adventure featuring deep and challenging gameplay.

Sifu puts you in control of a young Kung-Fu student who has dedicated his very soul to his quest for vengeance. After his family was murdered by a squad of mysterious assassins, our hero has spent the next eight years of his life preparing his revenge.

The day of reckoning has finally come, and he will hunt down the murderers one by one without letting anyone get in his way. To overcome the odds stacked against him, he will rely on his Kung Fu skills, and on a magical pendant that revives him upon death. This magic has a cost though: our hero gets older every time he comes back to life. How long will you manage to survive before having to start his quest again? Is one life enough to have Kung Fu?

On the path of vengeance: The hunt for the assassins will take you through the hidden corners of the city, from the gang-ridden suburbs to the cold hallways of the corporate towers. You have got one day, and countless enemies on your way. Time will be the price to pay.

Adaptation is the way: Careful positioning and clever use of the environment to your advantage are key to your survival. Use everything at your disposal: throwable objects, makeshift weapons, windows and ledges… The odds are stacked against you, and you will be offered no mercy.

Training never ends: Kung Fu is a path for the body and the mind. Learn from your errors, unlock unique skills, and find the strength within yourself to master the devastating techniques of Pak-Mei Kung-Fu.

So a third person martial arts brawler with cinematic-looking combat and environmental interaction/destruction? If they get the feel of the combat right, I will be all over this.

I couldnt really get into absolver, but a deep combat multi enemy brawl with interactible environments sounds excellent.

This was actually one of the best trailers from the SoP. I love me some brawlers and this one looks great, both graphically and the meaty combat. I wonder if there is any kind of multiplayer as that would truly make this something special.

The whole time I was getting "This is The Raid & The Raid 2 The Game" vibes. It looks awesome, but those hallway fights and the one in the club looked straight from those movies, and that is fantastic lol.

Absolver combat is really good so I'm excited for this. Was wondering what they were working on.

pretty much seems like what I had wanted out of Absolver. The fighting, art, and stuff all looked great but I wasnt really in the mood for an online only multiplayer gankfest lol

Didn't know this was coming from Absolver. Makes sense. Absolver is quite a lot of depth for their combat so I expect the same here.

This and Deathloop were the highlight of the show for me. Looks great, though I'd like to see some ui gameplay.

This was the most interesting trailer of the show for me. A tight, personal feeling brawler with fluid environmental interaction is right up my street. Digging the Raid and Oldboy vibes as well. I really hope they nail it because it looks like they know what they're aiming for.
