All I play is specialist and yeah the starting rifle is terrible. I only play Galatic Assult though so I imagine that's one of the reasons I can enjoy the class. Over half way to the final sniper rifle though and then I might try and get the officer class up a bit.
Oh Christ, this is driving me nuts. The load times for fucking anything in this game are garbage.
Way better. The crates all have an * on what one of the cards can be, so basically you can get trooper cards through the hero crates anyway. They have the same amount of scrap despite basically being half the cost, and even the trooper boxes give you hero/star cards in one of the slots.
yeah, it's truly unfortunate since its such a fun mode. hopefully things get better after black friday
You can use it to buy crates if you get enough. IIRC its 110 crystals for a hero crate.
For the last 5 hours of my trial I was stuck with 4 heavy trooper cards, preventing me from unlocking the second card slot. There was literally NOTHING I could do about it. It was crap. Needless to say I let my trial expire.
Seriously. I don't mind the long load times for the maps, but it's ridiculous that the main menu takes as long as it does to load.
The most dominating teams seem to get stopped easily at the very end of Galactic Assault where they have to assault a small and easily defensible hole.
The review thread has reports of 15-20 hours of play and having unlocked most of the heroes. Does anyone here concur on that?
If you gun straight for them it's easily doable in 15 hours.
Definitely possible if you ignore Trooper cards. Realize that you literally do not progress at all on the things you play ~95% of the time if you hero rush though. Its why the system is so borked.
Yeah pretty much. Only two Heroes are really expensive so buy the others first.
I feel like I should horde my credits to buy all the locked heroes, but at the same time I've never been remotely close to having enough points to use one in a game so I don't know.
Load times haven't bothered me really. Granted I'm on PC with an SSD.
That stupid shield for heavies needs to be nerfed or something. Such a pain in the ass. There should be restrictions on shooting through it or something. Dunno. Better night tonight, and getting more kills and headshots. Played mostly Blast to practice head to heads and encounters, etc. Definitely need to do better with the movement and rolling; almost never think to roll. Other players are rolling constantly to the point where it's almost comical. But it's funny in those cases when I can kill them mid roll and they look like a goofy rag doll.

Starfighter Assault is just flat out incredible like in the original.. There is absolutely nothing like it out there.

Forget Uncharted 4, HZD, whatever else anybody wants to put forth. I think BF2 has taken over "teh grafix" award for this gen. Just astounding at times. On a 970 and six year old CPU even.
Seems like EA thought they could hose over BF players like they do FIFA and Madden players with their ultimate team legalized gambling scam and got shocked when it didn't happen.
Even on a base PS4, Kamino might be the most visually impressive thing I've ever seen in a game. And it runs at 60. Like, how.
Lando can be fucking amazing when played correctly. He's tricky as hell.
Honestly, I'm already okay with the heroes that come unlocked lol.
Iden seems the most under powered.
Still haven't seen a list either, but I think we can safely say that all Galactic Assault maps have smaller versions. Some unique, some a small portion of the large map.
On a side note: the small Death Star map is so much fucking fun for Blast.

My evasive rolls and shock grenade are on point. I can just feel the frustration from sith users maniacally swinging and failing to connect. Haven't spammed the trigger so fast since the FAL in MW2. Its almost natural.
And it's still stock Lando, too. Can't wait to see how I perform with purple cards.
I'm getting a way better K/D ratio than I ever got with the first Battlefront, on some maps I'm actually getting 6 kill streaks per life on average and it feels like I go forever without dying.

Stodeh is the best sniper I've seen on YouTube as of late. I haven't been so baffled over a dudes snipe montage since the original Halo days.
Even if it's the strongest sniper, dude is consistently hitting heads. Rarely body shots. Checked his feed and he's like this in other shooters as well. Gotta get my snipe game up. Well on console :P

Progression in galactic assault is ass. I play the whole game saving points to be a hero but I can't ever get close because we are winning or losing so badly. So I wind up wasting points because I don't try and play as a walker or something. FUCK. THIS IS SO BAD.
I just got a card to increase battle points for the heavy class, it helps a lot.
I don't think the final sniper can one shot headshot heavies. It would mean being double the damage than the second, it would be very unbalanced.
I play heavy mostly and so far I have never been one shotted with full hp, except for vanguard... That goes through even the blue card shield...
I'm still on vacation and have been since last Thursday. I would have though being in California the connection online would have been much better but so far the WiFi at both places we've stayed has been useless. So on 4G now and my plan is capped so I cannot peruse the entire thread. I did see an appointment at article about how DICE/EA has listened to the community and altered some stuff, so can anyone give me the Cliff Notes version of what they've done. I get home in Thursday so I'll be playing at some point this weekend. I own the Deluse Tropper Edition if that makes any difference as to what has been changed.

Playing the game! And I love it of course. Some things about the progression system that needs to be fixed, i.e credits after games. But dice is working on that.
I don't know why DICE are so terrible at load times. The first Battlefront was pretty shit specially when the Bespin DLC cam out. Battlefield one was absolutely terrible and had the same problem as this where it took about 3 hours to get to the main menu and now this is pretty bad.
I always think it's a bit lazy by the devs because in 3 games it doesn't even seem like they have attempted to sort it out.
