Monster. Well deserved, I still can't believe it was made in entirety by one person.

One of the best games I've ever played.

Wife and I are on our third play-through, half profit this time. Has been a ton of fun and more challenging.

It's an absolute triumph. I can't even fathom how one person made this game (with the help of others for updates) and they deserve every last one of those sales. What a dream situation for an Indie dev.

Super deserved. I still need to make time to do a new playthrough, they've added so much since my last fresh start that I basically have like a full games worth of new content at this point I think.

Truly amazing, specially so because it's made by one person, right? Biggest success case in the industry if you ask me.

Well deserved.
There is also an amazing mod community on PC that always pulls me back into the game.

Insane when you see an indie game sell multiple times the amount some AAA games could ever even dream of. Congrats to the team.

And made by one guy. I know it was very difficult for him during development, like I remember reading at one point he hated the game just because of exhaustion/frustration, but it was totally worth it. He probably doesn't need to work anymore with all the money this has brought him. Now he can fuck around and make whatever he wants at the pace he wants. Well deserved.

I haven't really played this since 2016 (and it was one of my favorite games that year). I wonder how different it feels now? Might have to give it a fresh go next month!

He definitely doesn't need to work anymore. He became a multimillionaire within just a few months after release (source: Blood, Sweat, and Pixels).
It really is a labor of love at this point.

Yep.

Eric Barone did the music, all the art, and pretty much everything you would expect out of a development studio while chucklefish handled the publishing during its original release along with 505 games later on for the physical versions.

He's drowning in 💰

Neat. Can I see more of that witch game now.
I wouldn't hold out too much hope for that game (Witchbrook), all that we've ever seen are mockup concept images iirc. with no game to actually show - and since the lead director / head of the studio on that one (different from Stardew) was exposed for transphobia and exploiting minors for unpaid labour, they've gone pretty radio silent and not put much else out. Probably just a Stardew cash-in that's never going to actually see the light of day is my personal guess. 🤷

Also it's on sales right now:

store.steampowered.com

Stardew Valley on Steam

You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?

Gonna double dip as I wanna do a rerun with the expanded mod.

I am really late but just tried it for the first time a few days ago. I didn't "get" the appeal from watching videos so it was never any interest to me. After putting in a couple hours I understand it. Very chill game to get lost in

I've dabbled in it here and there more than once…this is the year I finally commit to it and really dive in, esp. with 1.6 coming soon to consoles after the PC launch.

I might even start my real play through this week…
