Yup for the most part based on the trailers and the demos
Yeah. Like the Shrunken Shrine is now based on a Mako Reactor from FFVII and the Crystal Mirage is based on the Crystal Tower from FFIII.
I'm out of the loop, why was the game retooled to have you fighting across various Final Fantasy dimensions?Yeah. Like the Shrunken Shrine is now based on a Mako Reactor from FFVII and the Crystal Mirage is based on the Crystal Tower from FFIII.
This isn't a canon remake or prequel to FF1 if that's what you're wondering. Nothing was retooled, this was always the plan. It's not even an anniversary thing. Just a coincidence.I'm out of the loop, why was the game retooled to have you fighting across various Final Fantasy dimensions?
It's been that way from the beginning. One of the areas in the demos was based off FFXIIII'm out of the loop, why was the game retooled to have you fighting across various Final Fantasy dimensions?
That's weird - I thought that that is what it was being marketed as (FF1 prequel/side-reboot thing)This isn't a canon remake or prequel to FF1 if that's what you're wondering. Nothing was retooled, this was always the plan. It's not even an anniversary thing. Just a coincidence.

That kindof story-plotting sounds…chaotic. It's been somewhat confusing in that regard, because the marketing pivoted once people realized that Jack was actually Chaos, and they embraced that openly instead of hiding it. But it seems like it's not necessarily going to be a straightforward 'this is how Chaos came to be' as I think they originally wanted to market it as, and it's more of this quasi-retelling, quasi-prequel type of thing that references the seires history as a whole
Yep! But in interviews they've clarified that it's more of an 'inspired by' situation. That's weird - I thought that that is what it was being marketed as (FF1 prequel/side-reboot thing)
Really? Which are was it based on?It's been that way from the beginning. One of the areas in the demos was based off FFXIII
The Refrin Wetlands is based off the Sunleth Waterscape from Final Fantasy XIII.
Nice! Loved that area. The Refrin Wetlands is based off the Sunleth Waterscape from Final Fantasy XIII.

It's Satasha actually lolIs the FFXIV level just the characters laying down and sobbing uncontrollably?
of all the things they could have picked, thuogh :(
It was very cool in the demo. They even had a system where you changed the weather during gameplay to make it rain (or not) like in FF13. Excited to see what other details they include for the other areas.
Didn't know about the levels based on locations from other FF games. Cute gimmick, interested in seeing what V, VI, and IX get.
This was posted today. Gives a nice rundown at what has been shown so far:

What I'm curious about is that if the other areas have music from other FFs mixed in like the FFXIII level. I could not tell from the video posted in the OP due to the commentary.
Sastasha there is the Pravoka Seagrot, which they mentioned is where Bikke is holed up.This was posted today. Gives a nice rundown at what has been shown so far:

I hope it's both of those thingsI am still shocked how much this game went from ultimate meme material to a game that looks really good.
