I find that any kind of time limit stresses people out even if it's a part of the core gameplay loop. It's the most common reason I hear over snubbing Majora's Mask anyway.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the stress of time limits, but games like Majora and Chibi-Robo don't use them in that "you're gonna miss out" way that a game like, say Dead Rising does, which is why I can deal with them. I love the DR games, but the idea of "this person is gonna die if I don't save them in the next 5 minutes" has always raised my anxiety lol
Even though that's the case, it still seems impractical for the player to pick which up special they want to use, when trying to recover. Even just standing there for a second causes you to lose height and also picking a spell seems like it's an easy time to edge guard Hero.
Maybe it'll be some unique combination of inputs or something that allows you to quickly swap moves. We've seen characters like Ryu/Ken and Inkling get unique mechanics tied into standard inputs, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. More likely than not it'll be exactly the way we assume and be too clunky to be of use in normal situations though lol
Probably the most likely Namco reps, though I wonder how another swordfighter would be received, especially if they have magic like Robin and Hero.
I think they'd be so totally different than the standard swordy that people wouldn't care. Honestly, I think the sword fighter thing only comes into play when it's an FE character, who look similar and have derivitive movesets, or when it's a character people just don't want to like ie Hero.
