I really don't understand why people find rosters so critical to them for games like this. imo either you want to play a good tennis game or you don't, ignoring everything else a certain player not being in the game swaying you to not buy it is quite ridiculous. I'll be giving this game a try and hopefully it plays well.
I personally don't care that much, but I understand that for a sports game to have visibility it needs some stars there.
To me the two most glaring issues are
It just doesn't make sense and looks super off-putting
- sometimes the players don't even touch the ball and yet they hit them fine
- the running forehand animation looks weak
- some motions don't make any sense, they play like half volleys from the service line and the ball shoots over the net as if it was s smash or a drive
That is dissapointing. To be honest one could see it coming, the previews were not looking all that great, and it felt like the game really needed more time in the oven. I am guessing they might have ran out of time/budget and had to release what they had. I do hope at the very least they fix glitches like players hitting the ball without touching it.
Pretty sure those are still with 2K. The developers can't just use them again because they want to. One canclearly tell Top Spin 4 must have had a way bigger budget than TWT.
Most definitely, Top Spin 4 had all the main M1000 and Grand Slams except Wimbledon, as well as pretty much all the top players of the time and quite a few legends. I am guessing it must have bombed pretty hard if they didn't give any continuity to a series that four entries.
