Probably. iirc all these storefronts were selling uplay keys anyway and the games still on uplay. Nothing in the OP indicates Epic jas anything to do with this either. This seems like Ubisoft forcing people to storefronts where they'll take a bigger cut but they've managed to avoid most of the heat for doing this. Epic still sucks but the anger over this should be toward Ubisoft.I feel like Ubisoft is using Epic as a scapegoat so they can leave Steam while minimalizing the backlash.
The PC market is the wrong one to fuck with. It already feels like people have had enough. Epic needs to be careful.
Well dont know about Epic lover, but you all need to understand that there is zero chance of any store buying keys from Ubisoft for less than Epic. They aint gonna sell keys to whatever-reseller for the usual 70% of msrp when they get 88% from Epic. Do we know for sure if it is Epic blocking other sites or other sites not willing to do business with a maximum 12% margin?
Does Ubi have a Patreon? I believe we should give them more money, since Epic is stealing 12% from them.thank god small epic could help struggling indie dev ubisoft in this great example of competition vs evil giant company valve
I'd be curious if Tencent owning a stake in both Epic and Ubisoft played into these decisions.
Stop complaining guys. According to PC Gamer's Fraser Brown, it's for our own good.
Didnt Fortnite started to get less money due to Apex? I have read something like that some days agoGood to see Epic out here burning cash like Fortnite will never slow down.

Lol tangentially relatedNow there aren't just calls to boycott Epic, but the tangentially-related SteamSpy, too,
Why did Ubisoft list The Division 2 on these stores in the first place if they didn't want to sell on them?Probably. iirc all these storefronts were selling uplay keys anyway and the games still on uplay. Good for Epic for supporting this struggling dev called Ubisoft. Truly the messiah of PC gaming.

But you don't understand, Ubisoft needed the visibility, Steam is too crowded for the 3rd biggest gaming publisher who owns its own storefront.
Epic is just helping out smaller devs.
I take what I said back LOL. Epic's just going balls deep into this. They are still a net negative to competition. You can try to deny it but it is flat out what is true. And people will vote with their wallet, but in the mean time we are allowed to be mad at being insulted by blatant lies.
No, they shouldn't. Re-branding at this point will lose them a lot of customers, not to mention the headache of changing name, logo, registering said name, etc, etc. It would cost a lot to do for something that doesn't really affect them
No?...so they stop selling keys to their OWN store as well?
Okay now this is fucked.
I'm going to delete the Epic/Fortnite launcher from my kids' computers today. That shit is no longer welcome in this household. They will understand as we've talked about shitty publishers/corporations before.
