*sigh* That's depressing. Thanks for the heads up though.Word is Netflix has already passed on it. Last I saw anything it was either SyFy picking it up again for another season (unlikely), or Amazon taking over.

Statement from alcon: "To the fans and the stakeholders of The Expanse, your passion and your advocacy have not gone unnoticed. Please stay ignited and excited as we work through a few scenarios. The cast, the crew, the producers, the writers, we are all deeply moved and motivated to make this work. There are a lot of moving parts [Cas, aside: which is really true]. There are no promises at this point, but a commitment to try everything."
sounds like good news to meStatement from alcon: "To the fans and the stakeholders of The Expanse, your passion and your advocacy have not gone unnoticed. i remember watching the 1st episode of colony long time ago, didn't think it was anything special back then
The SG is a Ted Faro fucker in that he is more concerned with his legacy than doing the actual right thing. Although the SG could never rise to Ted's level. Ted is too much of an actual fuck.
Ha! I knew it!Decided to start reading the books, currently early in Leviathan Wakes and the show really did a great job adapting the book to screen. The only real outlier is how much more changed Belters look in the books versus the show, like Naomi for example. The scene in the pilot with the Belter being tortured is the only one I recall that really displayed the physical changes so apparently
He didn't want future generations to know how much he fucked up.Faro from Horizon? Because Faro's final act seemed less about legacy than his view of how to save the future of humanity.
Never thought about it before. James is supposed to be hooked up with a near 6.5 ft belterThe only real outlier is how much more changed Belters look in the books versus the show, like Naomi for example.

I couldn't stop thinking about Metal Slug's aliens for some reason
Terrific episode, by the way. "I'm that guy". I think everybody was expecting that line, but it was still so awesome.
https://youtu.be/Ivej0OW7WZkWhat's the best trailer to show someone to give them a good idea of the show? I don't like that SaveTheExpanse one, shows too much IMO. Any other slick fan-made ones that focus mostly on the first season, maybe some stuff from the second?

I got my dad interested when I was telling him it wasn't aliens-&-lasers style sci-fi, and had some Game of Thrones-esque factional intrigue, behind-the-scenes maneuvering, and a larger otherworldly threat happening in the background
There is hope forThe Expanse beyond its upcoming third season, which will be the sci-fi drama's last one on Syfy. I hear Alcon Television Group, which fully finances and produces The Expanse, is in conversations with Amazon about picking up the critically praised series for Season 4. Sources stress the talks are still preliminary. Reps for both companies declined comment.
Early days, so don't get too excited until you hear something official.I hear there is interest in making a deal, but, like in the case of Netflix's effort to pick up drama Designated Survivor following its cancellation by ABC, complex SVOD rights make negotiations complicated.
Amazon owns North American SVOD rights to The Expanse, while Netflix carries the series globally outside of North America and New Zealand. (Netflix also has global SVOD rights to Designated Survivor while Hulu has domestic ones.)
Still, sources close to the situation are optimistic that a deal for The Expanse is possible.
The cancellation decision by Syfy is said to be linked to the nature of its agreement for the series, which only gives the cable network first-run linear rights in the U.S. That puts an extraordinary amount of emphasis on live, linear viewing, which is inherently challenging for sci-fi/genre series that tend to draw the lion's share of their audiences from digital/streaming.
But that is exactly the type of show a streaming platform would be interested in. Additionally, Amazon has been looking to beef up its portfolio of original genre drama series, so The Expanse could fit into that effort.
The visuals on that were great.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't gravity, but that the joints were damaged to the point of movement being impaired. You could see that arm marked as damaged in her helmet HUDI'm going to hazard a guess and say that Bobby's exoskeleton won't be coming back any time soon. That thing was beaten to shit, had several visible cracks, no batteries and was splashed with hybrid blood all over it. Time to go on another legitimate salvage?
*that was a bit of a physics blunder, btw. Io's surface gravity is MUCH smaller than Earth's, so she should have been able to pull herself up even with a depowered exo. Unless that thing is busted beyond any movement due to damage to the joints or whatever. I imagine it was done out of convenience since simulating the effects of "low gravity but not truly 0G" could be very tricky for the FX crew and the stunt team.
Bobbie exploring Future NYC is one of my favorite parts. I wish we could see more of Future Earth. I like how it's not full on dystopia - there are good parts of life there clearly. It feels very real.
Something about watching Bobbie's preconception of Earthers - as all just being a bunch of "takers" - be challenged is fascinating.
That thing is OP as fuck, it essentially makes any possible shoot outs invalid if she's around. Probably for the best if its taken off the board.

Edit: yeah
Delta-V
All eyes turn to the edge of the solar system as a mysterious new presence emerges. Naomi recommits to her roots. Drummer butts heads with a seasoned new commander aboard the Behemoth. A young Belter makes a name for himself.
First two but they've already introduced elements from the thirdWhat books have they covered so far? I've only read the first two, but I remember reading that the timeline is weird in this.

LOLHaha, what is this.
Lol at these Belter versions of old love ballads.
SyFy is fine with this type of thing, see BSG. I find it refreshing.
