Galaxy or multiple galaxies?
Galaxy or multiple galaxies?
It's 1300ish solar systems. Dunno if they're all milky way, cause I'm not a book reader.
Fox McCloud confirmed.are there other life encunters in any of the books? looking at the picture posted in the previous page when Holden gets that flash of light i see like a cat figure lol

As mentioned in this thread, the series diverges a bit but it's still pretty close to the books. it's pretty much following all the story arcs, but some characters (mostly supporting roles) might be different.
Books aren't finished yet.
Yeah, I was worried she and Amos were gonna kill each other.
I believe the protomolecule was how 'miller' was able to contact HoldenTwo things that I find out that were never brought up again was the time the Roci's name was changed to 'Pinus Contorta' and then it just went back to being the Roci. Also, and please don't reply to this if you've read the books, but it's weird how they made it a point to show that some protomolecule was inside the Roci and then...nothing. By the time the ring showed up, the protomolecule just kinda seemed like a plotpoint that was no longer relevant and that seems to be even more the case with the ending of season 3.
Maybe it'll be relevant to season 4 but as of now it just seems like a plotline that was abandoned.

I get why the name was changed but it was directed like it was an important moment and the Roci's name was going to change but apparently they just changed it back off screen. It's a bit odd.
Just finished watching it and goosebumps after goosebumps. I felt it was a tad rushed (perhaps because I was cognizant that the show had been cancelled by this point). I really hope all the OG writers, directors and actors stay for when the production starts again for 4th season on Amazon.
Honestly, it's hard to watch other space sci-fi shows that don't follow the laws of physics. Aside from sound in space, almost everything else can be based in our current understanding of physical laws.
Now, I am wondering whether I should read/listen to the entire series or just stick to the tv shows. Do they diverge significantly and is the series as a whole concluded in the books?
They're already writing season 4. Shooting for it starts in September. The whole crew is back, in front of the camera and behind it. The network switch doesn't really mess things up at all for anyone because it's an Alcon show no matter where it gets shopped around to. So we're good. :)
Well, I know they lost 2 writers, due to the waiting for Amazon pickup, including Georgia Lee, who wrote some good episodes including the Mutiny episode, and the episode where Holden/Miller go to the station (and then bad shit happens). But as usual, helps having the 2 Author's also on the writing staff.
This is how I understand it too, but I hope it doesn't end up coming back and being a problem again. It would be annoying if the show basically ignores the protomolecule on the Roci for an entire season except for it being used to have Miller communicate, only for it to conveniently end up becoming a massive problem at the worst possible time later.I believe the protomolecule was how 'miller' was able to contact Holden
In addition to a bit different flow of events and way more details, the scale of events in the book is much larger. For example, events on Eros were public knowledge from the start, and the entire solar system was fucking terrified of it. Show downscaled not only events and sizes of involved people, but also rearanged things so that it would be cheaper to film.
Season 3 strayed the furthest thus far and imo was hit and miss on the changes. The narrative was a lot stronger overall (turning Ashford into an actual character helps a lot), but I feel the plot worked better with the way the book played out.
The protomolecule has already fulfilled its purpose so surely it wouldn't grow wildly and consume everything. This is how I understand it too, but I hope it doesn't end up coming back and being a problem again. IMO, books are better, but TV show is doing its best to not break the bank.

To be fair to the show though I think they changed as much as they did simply because they wanted to wrap up the first trilogy and sped through it due to fears of cancellation. Books 1+2 were a like a season and a half each, while book 3 was...half a season lol...
From here on out I hope we don't have to deal with that as much.
By then they're in the protomolecule's domain. How was Holden communicating with Miller on the Behemoth then? I'm sure I'm missing something here.

Regarding Holden, I think the actor is doing a great jobb. Holden is a bore in the books too :)
I think they did well with the TV cast, except that most of the main cast is a bit too young and pretty.
Don't Earthers and Martians have longer lifespans now? The guy, Nico that Bobbie met on Earth said he was 52 years old but the actor that plays him looks late 30-ish that character was alsoliving in extreme poverty lol
IIRC they start more or less the same but the time between books is much longer. By the beginning of book 4, I remember Holden reflecting on how he's getting older, nearing 40 I think.Yep, 120+ years they said in an early episode. And that's the global average. Compared to today's global of ~70, that's basically an extra lifetime.
How old are Holden and Naomi in the show and books? Being that she's a belter, he could conceivably be a decade+ older than she is despite both looking early 30-something.
Amos is clearly smitten with Anna.
I think it's more likely he's just fascinated by people that have morals.Amos is clearly smitten with Anna.
Will Anna become a cheat next season is one of the questions I want answered.
Yeah, a film for Netflix. The Tall GrassLooks like they likely lost him because of the S4 uncertainty- he's currently working on a film.
Amos is so good. Actor and character.I think it's more likely he's just fascinated by people that have morals.
