Interesting that this game seems to be the one causing many critics to grapple with how much is too much and how far is too far in terms of violence in video games. Curious to see if this has any impact on review scores.

Love the gameplay. Hate the forced gay Ellie bit. Just because she fell in love with her ONLY friend when she was a kid doesn't mean you have to force her to kiss another girl when she's older. The little girl that was Ellie's friend could have just as easily been a boy. There were no gender queues in the situation. Nothing that would deter ellie from going for a guy if she had the choice.

The thing is she litterally had no one else.

There are no signs or queues that she isn't into guys or prefers girls ANYWHERE in the game. She even looks at porn mags, so they had plenty of chances to set that up.

It's not only jarring to people who didn't play the DLC, even AFTER playing the DLC I kinda cringe at how forced it is.

A lot of people have gay moments as kids. It happens. That stuff usually doesn't carry into adulthood.

Again, just my opinion. I doubt gay elli is going to ruin anything, but damn is it forced.

I only wish they would have fed us something else for E3 instead of forcing more LGBT shit down our throats like litterally everyone else.

What a sad life you must live...

Some of this will probably be pre-canned things the player can't control, Ellie won't be pulling back on the hammer each time you're about to shoot ..

Maybe she does when you are 1) in a hidden state, 2) crouched or prone, and 3) have been aiming for more than 3 seconds. Would be cool if it triggers based on conditions like that.

Im not sure how to feel about the religious enemies

I just find it hard to believe a big cult would come out of a scenario like this, where they seem hellbent on murdering enemies. Seems like it just doesnt fit the world

I hope the enemies are more than just religious weirdos, and get some kind of depth. Assuming ellie's gf dies and that the game opens up with the dance scene where everyone ends up getting massacred
I would URGE you to listen to Hardcore History's show on Munster. This shit has happened, and still happens in real life.

Nothing, except I imagine the fact she's a lesbian might deter her somewhat.

You don't consider the fact she kisses another girl a sign that she prefers girls? I thought that made it pretty clear personally.

I only wish they would have fed us something else for E3 instead of forcing more LGBT shit down our throats like litterally everyone else.

And now it all makes sense.

I'm really surprised it can be seen as forced. The way it was shot and played by the actors was top notch and moving, you could clearly feel how the girls felt, it was a beautiful moment.

I get your "it was not set up before", I might have react the same way in the past, but I think it's wrong :

Because 10 times out of 10, if a girl fall for a guy, it's ok, it's not built up before but we are used to "girl love guy". Just tell me why it should not be the other way around ? Why do gay people have to be built up, explained or justified ? It's just a thing.

That scene was fu***** beautiful and not as forced as in many, many, many other games/books/movies/shows.

EDIT : As guessed, you'll be getting a lot of comments because of your post so I would genuinely like you to explain more about how it made you feel, why do you feel deceived or something ?

(you felt for her and now you know it will never happened am I right /jk )

I really feel sorry for Levu. Anyone with such a narrow view of things, that it's forced to show a woman kiss another woman, or a man kissing another man really is pitiful.

I'm good.

The more realistic a game the less I like the extreme violence. It just tuens me off.

Violence of any type is not supposed to feel good. It's supposed to turn people off unless you are a psychopath. We have so many games that are just as if not more violent but the different is those games are stylized and glorifies the violence so it's ok. This game shows violence for what it is. Ugly, grim, brutal. It doesn't sugar coat it so some people will have issue with it. I'm crazy jaded when it comes to this stuff and even I flinched a little when watching this a second time. However it's what makes the game work. If the violence wasn't realistic in this game there would be a disconnect. TLOU wouldn't be the same without it.

Not so strange when you think about it really. Cults thrive when there is a desperate call for hope. And if there's anything that humans cling on to as a last resort it's hope. If cults can form in a somewhat sane society then chaos can surely inspire such movements as well. There is much weakness and suffering to exploit in a world gone completely mad.

Wait people think this is fake gameplay?
https://youtu.be/btmN-bWwv0A?t=6m43s

My discord last night when this was reveal was just "Yo she is dodging", "is this real???", "Fake or actually insane".
Directional dodging that factors in objects near you is nuts. Being dragged out from underneath a car is nuts. And its all because of the animations used, it looked scripted like the end of tlou gameplay reveal. Which did represent the gameplay, it just wasnt stuff you choose to do as a player.

The game is very unsettling with the details. Blood dripping and the eyes closing after she fell down. Yeesh

What? You can't even crouch in UC on command, let alone go prone like in MGSV.

I enjoyed TLOU a great deal (UC4 considerably less), but for my money MGSV still has the absolute best TPS mechanics of any game.

So go prone is your barometer on great TPD mechanics? You don't think ND can allow for a go prone mechanic? These are design choices the developer made.

IMO MGSV does have very good mechanics but they that doesn't diminish what TLOU is doing by choice. Too bad MGSV the game wasn't as good as a game though.

Having watched the trailer again I am fairly confident that all the animations and situational treats are in the game and can happen like that under the right circumstances.
But obviously the gameplay trailer here was carefully designed to show of some of the most impressive.

Being mad at ND for outclassing you is pretty pointless considering it's simply a given that they will produce quality that is far beyond anything you can muster.

Just accept it and move on

I dont understand why this user got perma banned.

There is nothing homophobic or trolling about his post. He is only stating his opinion. And I do agree with making Ellie gay feels forced and a way for Naughty Dog to win points.

I agree, it's ok to be critical and console warriors are the problem...

Ghost of Tsushima thread comments:

While games on the another console....

Gears 5

Halo Infinite

Lol, so because I made positive comments towards halo and gears, which tbh I only ever played gears 1-2, skipped 3 and judgment, and played half of 4. While also never finished halo 3 or 4. But I've purchased every single PlayStation exclusive to date, started on PlayStation, and always been partial to PlayStation. I can't have opinions or be critical of the games coming for the system??

Trust me, your "sniffing" is ignorant to who I am. I could show you so many Facebook posts, and games I own and have beaten for PlayStation but frankly I don't feel like spending the energy. I've always been a Sony fan, which is exactly why im allowed to be critical of their games. Take your nonsense elsewhere, you're not nearly as clever as you think with this post. Infact knowing who I am, it's actually hilarious you tried to make that connection.

Edit: infact do a public search for my PSN ID StealthXHawk so you can see how ignorant your post is

You trollin mate? I mean, show anyone a picture of Ellie and a picture of Ellen Paige and Ashley Johnson and ask which one Ellie resembles more...

I'm not saying they modeled Ellie after Ellen Paige, but she looks so much more like Ellen Paige than Ashley Johnson. The argument about Ellie being gay because Ellen Paige is gay is just stupid though...

She actually doesn't really look that much like Ellen Page though. I mean unless you of course them both being young, Caucasian women mean they look alike.
