Can somebody recomend to me bands similar to Trivium and FFDP ? Trivium is my favorite band of all time.

Timeghoul (MO) - Occurrence on Mimas
certainly one of the most famous demo-only OSDM bands around, and at this point a poster child for unconventional sounds within the style.
Any Orange Goblin love on Era? My friend got me into them around 2002 with their Coup de Grace album that came out then, but my favourite album of theirs is Healing Through Fire.
I'd also suggest Finntroll. Or Ensiferum. Something like Goblins' Dance.
Thank you very much !Sure man. Do you want more of the same, or are you looking to branch out into the more artisanal stuff?
For more of the same, you can pretty much throw a dart at the Roadrunner Records roster and be sure to find something you'd like. Here I'm thinking of Machine Head, Unearth, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Chimaira, which are all very good, but pretty much in the same vein as Trivium and FFDP.
If you're looking to branch out, I'd say check out Vader, Toxic Holocaust, Rotting Christ, Goatwhore, Misery Index, Cannibal Corpse and High on Fire. They all represent a good start off point for getting into other genres without having too much of an "old" sounding production. The "classics" are definitely something worth listening to, but coming from Trivium and FFDP you'd be more into the "instant gratification" that I feel these bands provide.
Happy listening.

Song of the Day
Here's something a bit different for today.
The Angelic Process - The Promise of Snakes
Drone/doom/ambient/shoegaze/etc all mashed together into something beautiful. I really love this album. I once heard someone describe listening to The Angelic Process as drowning in the most beautiful part of the ocean. I think that is accurate.
I'm sure there are fans here. I gave them a shot at some point but the music was a tad mellow for me. Damn good band though, who knows, may revisit them again some day.
I picked up The Big Black back when it came out. Scorpionica is a killer album intro. I've always liked that album but never thought to check out any of their other releases, but I'll listen to some stuff while at work today starting with your link.
Amon Amarth ain't viking metal...
(I guess this song is actually a bit more viking-y than most, though)
Melodic Death metal , then . ( the bands own preference )
most of their songs are about Viking mythology and history so in my book they might as well be .
Certainly.I am always looking for new stuff and expand my horizons.
So anyone willing to introduce me to some proper Viking metal?
Certainly.
Bathory's discography starting from Hammerheart (or arguably even Blood Fire Death) is the best place to start. Hammerheart, Twilight of the Gods, Blood On Ice, Nordland I and II are the quintessential viking metal sound.
Shores in Flames, One Rode to Asa Bay, The Stallion, The Land
For authenticity, you can't beat Storm. It's actually all old Norse songs adapted to metal, collected in a single album/side-project titled "Nordavind" by Fenriz (Darkthrone), Satyr (Satyricon) and Kari Rueslåtten (The 3rd and the Mortal):
Mellom bakkar og berg, Villemann, Langt borti lia
If you want shorter, more compact and typically more "upbeat" songs, you can try Einherjer:
Dreamstorm, Doomfaring, Wolf-Age, Varden brenne
Månegarm, folkier sound with the violins but with the black metal influence still obvious:
Fimbultrollet, Skymningsresa, Vargstenen
For a more "power metal" influence in the riffs, there's Mithotyn (whose members went on to form Falconer, you'll hear the resemblance if you are familiar, it's basically Falconer with growls and a more folky Norse sound)
In the Clash of Arms, In the Sign of Ravens, Under the Banner,
If you want cleaner vocals you can't really go wrong with any early Falkenbach (up 'til Heralding, haven't heard the rest), always epic and fun:
Heathen Foray, Vanadis,Donar's Oak,
This album has been getting a lot of play from me so far this year. Not sure if I had shared it yet.
Evil Warriors - Fall From Reality
I've been listening to this lately thanks to you! Probably the most generic ass name ever and the most boring artwork of this year so far, but the music is really solid!!!
And i discovered this guys are involved in a project i've also enjoyed quite a lot this year.
Antles - Beneath.Below.Behold
Sunday Song of the Day
Today I'm going with what I would describe as the CD equivalent of something from Bloodborne, not like a soundtrack or anything, but like a ritual from the game. I've been wanting to mention this whole album and this seems like as good a time as any. The album cover is a very cool ritual type thing with skull, candle and bloody hands. The music is fast and heavy black metal that just pounds its way along. Today's tune is the album opener which is just firing right out of the gate and slows down to some chanty ritual stuff and speeds back up. If you like this tune, you'll like the album. The band has a couple other albums but I've not checked those out yet. Anyway, enjoy!
