So, a mobile Diablo was announced, which has received a lot of condemnation because it's not Diablo IV or Diablo II Remastered. That's fine. People did the exact same thing when Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls: Blades.
However, saying that the game will be bad because it's a mobile game doesn't respect the changes made to the industry since the rise of Candy Crush Saga helped create the stereotype in the first place.
Multiplatform premium games from both indies (e.g. Oxenfree, LIMBO, Bastion/Transistor, Stardew Valley) and mainstream publishers (Minecraft, Scribblenauts, Civiliation VI, Knights of the Old Republic). Square Enix has ported over the same Final Fantasy games (+ Valkyrie Profile) that are present on PC/Console console to mobile.
Gacha/Microtransaction-oriented games games have mellowed out a bit as competition intensifies over the years (often by giving lots of free currency for pulls, leading to an interesting equilibrium). The recent App Store change requiring games to list drop rates helped a lot as well. At the least, you can usually complete the main plot of a modern Gacha while being completely F2P; a pretty good time value.
And that's not even touching the really good original titles that make good use of the medium (e.g. Reigns).
We'll probably see more even mobile games thanks to Unity/UE4 making cross-platform development a lot easier. In fairness, not all mobile games do support an external controller which is very important for several games, and that is room for improvement (I do have a Steelseries Nimbus, but haven't had a huge desire to use it).
Not all mobile games are Candy Crush.
